| After setting the one named Julian free to go back home after wiping his memory of how to find his hideaway, Erisidr was on the look out for something else to study. Making his way through the cramped dark hall where it was currently was, the rather rough looking elf strode through the isles quietly. He studied each creature, and most of the time turned them down in his head, he wanted something interesting or unique to study, the world knew he knew too much as it was and yet the desire to keep learning and fill his books and home with more knowledge drew him forward. It helped him perfect his potions after all, noticing a young man who was gagged and shackled in Iron Erisidr came to a halt and studied him. There was something that was familiar, that he hadn’t felt in centuries, recognizing what it was after a few moments of thought his dark brown almost black eyes narrowed somewhat. The man trying to sell the tied up boy began rabbiting on about how he was part elf part fairy, he considered his options, he wasn’t a fan of paying for things as he believed money was a foolhardy idea and trading was much better, the elf decided he’d come back later and pick him up then. Outwardly he appeared to grow bored and carry on, it wasn’t until much later that night that the elf returned, lifting his fingers to his lips at the boy now in an iron cage warning him to be silent. He focused and whispered three words that seemed to subtly echo and then stepped back into the darkness watching as the guards began attacking each other, once they were dead he made his way to the cage silently studying him once again only closer. Picking up the brand on the back of the boys hand his expression grew grim, another one of ices experiments however this was a positive thing for him something new to study. | |

| There was a cheeky sort of satisfaction knowing that he’d pissed off the humans enough to make them gag him. But the iron hurt, and he was more focused now on trying to slip out of that. He ignored all the humans that wandered past, flicking between ideas to try and get himself out and back home. Lifting his head when the idiot began rabbiting on about what they thought they knew about him, he narrowed his silver gaze at the man, sensing something different about him. Unable to place it, he ignored it, bored. Like usual, he was shoved into a cage at night, and he hugged his knees to himself in the centre of it, missing his wings. It felt so wrong for them to not be there any more, though he had to admit the black tattoo like things were interesting the ways they moved about under his skin. Trying yet again to slip out of the painful shackles, he was distracted by the intruder. Quirking an eyebrow at the order to stay hushed, he nevertheless did, cheeky glee filling him when the guards fought among themselves. Watching the intruder warily, he scooted backwards when he came closer, wary about what the intentions were. He didn’t trust anyone around here, no matter if they made the humans kill themselves or not. He’d learned that fairly well by now. | |

| He was quiet, before he broke the lock with another murmured foreign set of words, opening it he grasped the boy by the scruff and with another word they were in his isolated Volcano home. Setting the boy down he studied him again before he removed the gag “you will stay here until you have earnt the trust to wander around, there is no way out although you may try as I suspect you will. I merely wish to study you as it is plain Ice has fiddled with you” indicating the brand on the boys hand he passed the key that opened the shackles he left the room and spoke loudly the strange words having a queer power to him. The door became like stone with no lock, no handle, although the room the boy was in was surprisingly nice especially compared to Ices dungeons. It had comfort and warmth, leaving the boy there to figure himself out, Erisidr plucked an empty book off the shelf and wrote the numbers on the front of it that would correlate with the number his subject would be known as. Setting that down he got to work in his lab, prepping various things for the experiments h’d do, as usual he’d start with blood there was so much he could find out from the red substance it was fascinating and this boy with what Ice had done to him he suspected would be incredibaly interesting | |

| Squirming in the man’s grip, he did his best to wriggle free with no success. Glaring at the man, the first thing he said when he was allowed was the rudest word he knew. Snatching at the key, he retreated away from the man, keeping a wary eye on him in case he decided to take the key back before he could unlock the shackles. Barely paying attention to the words, he focused on the shackles, tossing them away as soon as he could get them off. Glaring at the door now, he rubbed the brand on his hand and explored the room, wanting to know what he had. At least it wasn’t a cage this time, though he didn’t like that it was all rocky. He wanted to be in the sun with his plants. Shivering a little, he considered the provided bed and took it apart. Making a nest in the corner instead with the blankets and cushions, he settled there, trying to work out how to escape now. It seemed even more hopeless than before with the idiot humans, though it was a bonus that there seemed to be no iron around. Running a thumb over the painful burns from the metal on his wrists, he studied the black tattoos, tracing them to see how they moved in response. They never hurt when the moved, but he still didn’t see the point of them. Shifting his shoulders a bit, the lack of his wings hurt, and he curled up, trying to hide from everything. | |

| Erisidr left the boy alone to settle in, meals being provided, the food was simple but it was enough to live on, most of it was home grown vegetables and fruits. After about a week he turned up in the boys room now it was time for the subject to be researched, he spoke flatly and bluntly “If you cooperate you’ll be allowed into the crater with the lake and plants, I simply wish to study you” if he could get enough samples perhaps he’d figure out another way to be able to regain his wings. “Once I have finished my research I will set you free and I give you my word on that” which in his opinion should be enough, he’d rescued him, put him somewhere safe and had fed him. “Keep still and the samples I take will not hurt you during the process” he could well imagine the creatures response to his words, however Erisidr always stated what was going to happen, most of the time once the creatures figured out he wouldn’t hurt him cooperated. Faeries however were notoriously mischevious hence his wariness, underneath his hard to read stare the desire to find out how to gain his wings back ached, it’d been so long too long since he’d shed this mortal form and taken to the skies as his true scaled self. His features twitched at the memories while his dark gaze remained focused on the boy. He was merely a hatchling to the male who’d survived for millions of years, indeed there was an aura about him that indicated his age and weariness with the world. He’d retreated to this volcano for a reason, he didn’t like people, they were irksome and annoying, up here he had a sanctuary for himself where he could do as he wished | |

| He was bored in the room, and when he was bored, he got mischievous. Finding that the room didn’t dampen his magic, he’d set about experimenting like usual. Gleeful that the bookcase was wooden, he’d woken the old plant self of it, encouraging it to grow and use the candlelight to survive. Pleased with himself for making the annoyingly rocky room more liveable, he’d been perched in the branches when his captor came in. Swinging his legs, he snorted rudely at the man’s words. He didn’t want to be studied, he’d had enough of that already, and it had hurt so much. Plus the last time someone had studied him, he’d lost his wings. Who knew what he’d lose this time. Deciding that he didn’t want to be touched, he climbed higher in his tree, hiding among the leaves and branches. The longing to be outside was almost strong enough to want to cooperate, but he still wasn’t sure about it. Ignoring him now, the part fairy hummed to himself, beginning to fold leaves and branches together to create a more comfortable place for him to perch up high. | |

| Erisidr just shrugged watching the fairy up in the tree, it was the creatures room and so he didn't really care what happened to it. "Very well, if you prefer to stay in here then so be it" he left again he didn't bother trying to verbally manipulate others into doing things, he knew very well that the desire to be with plants would weaken the boys resolve. Until then he noted things down in the book, if he really had to he was not above just taking the blood, although it was easier when he had cooperation. After writing things down he headed out to his plants, carefully tending to the ones who required extra care and consideration, he grew both plants for his potions and plants for food, meat wise he'd hunt else where with trap and snare. scowling as he found that yet again his blasted animal had gotten around the fences. Fixing them and spelling them to repel the animal he found the smug horse who was polishing off its catch and scowled at him the quirky thing had once been an experiment and now it could process things like a human which was both useful and frustrating | |

| Pleased when he was left alone again, Atrel continued making his hideaway in the tree, soon ferrying the blankets and cushions from the bed up there. It was much nicer sleeping in a tree than on the ground, and much safer too. Curling there when he was finally done, he watched the black shadowy things for a while, considering his options. He did want to be with his plants again. As much as he was fond of his bookcase tree, proper plants were able to talk back to him, and perhaps he’d be able to get an idea of what his captor was like from them. Plants were so truthful after all, there was no need for them to lie. Though he wasn’t stupid, he could guess that he wouldn’t be allowed anywhere he wanted. He’d only be allowed outside when his captor decided it, and only for however long he decided. Sighing, he shut his eyes, missing being able to fly so much it hurt. | |

| It was a few days before Erisidr showed up again "This is the last time i ask nicely, allow me to take two vials of blood and I will take you up into the outside where there are plenty of plants" and one annoying nag, he could guess that the boy missed his wings, Erisidr did even after all this time. It seemed that the boy didn't know how to shift either or he likely would have turned into a dragon and tried to flee that way. Supposing the male would want to know specific details Erisidr listed them off "You can remain outside as long as you cooperate. There are some trees, vegetables and plants i use for their alchemy purposes." Faeries they were fickle tricky little things, although this one was taller than most which was likely due to his elf blood, he studied the creature up in his little tree he'd made. He seemed young, usually it was young ones that were caught by poachers due to usually being overly curious and reckless | |

| Watching from his nest, the boy narrowed his eyes a little. Why did the man want his blood, that didn’t make any sense. Emerging, he sat on a branch carefully out of reach and swung his legs a little. He did want to get out of the rocky room, he was hating being locked up and not able to wander. Wriggling his bare toes absently, he studied the old man, half distracted by the movements of the blackness under his skin. “When?” he demanded. He wasn’t going to agree just for some vague promise that he’d get outside someday. Once he had his answer, he considered it a bit more, and dropped lightly out of the tree. The man didn’t seem too bad, he hadn’t really been hurt here, though that would probably change at some point. Deciding that he’d work that out when he got to it, he shifted his shoulders slightly and waited for whatever was going to happen next. | |

| "As soon as I have what I need" Eri replied calmly, the Faerie jumped out of the tree and came over. Taking the boys wrist he inspected the wounds and snorted to himself "Poachers" he reached into a pocket to reveal a small jar with a screw top lid. Unscrewing it he smeared the paste on the boys wrists, screwed the top back on and set it in the boys hand "Three times a day, it should numb as well as heal" with that done he carefully drew the vials of blood he needed to begin tests and with that done headed out of the room leaving the door open for the boy to follow. Leading him up to the island in the crater lake of the old volcano, he stepped to the side allowing the boy to go. He'd changed the doors to the places he didn't want the faerie that'd keep the mischevious creature out of most mischief, knowing there was no way the boy could escape eri vanished back down into his lab to start work | |

| Twitching at the pain, he squirreled the jar away, eyeing the blood warily. He wasn’t sure about this, but he wasn’t going to knock back being outside again. Keeping close on the man’s heels, he darted outside without a look back. It was slightly raining, and the faerie shut his eyes a moment, enjoying the cool water. Wriggling his bare feet in the soft grass, he promptly began exploring the area he’d apparently been allowed into, absently rubbing his thumb over the brand on his hand. He came to a stop when he found the edge of the water, scowling at it. He couldn’t keep going, water was a killer. Deciding to follow the shoreline, he grew grumpier when he discovered he was stuck on an island. He hated island. Muttering softly to himself, he wandered among the plants instead, listening to them to see what this strange captor of his was like. He apparently took good care of the plants, which was interesting. But they were all so happy with the rich soil and the extra food and water the man gave them. Humming quietly, he found a nicely hidden place among the tallest plants and settled there, scratching the place the needle had gone in. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was scared here, and he just wanted to go home, but without any wings, he was essentially helpless. Hoping that he wouldn’t be found, he nestled up into the smallest space he could, trying to think up plans to escape. | |

| Quite happy with his blood samples, the male spent quite a long time working on them, figuring out how Ice had changed the boy, loosing track of the time it was several days before he realized he hadn’t had anything to eat and reappeared on the island again. Heading out to his plants each one was carefully checked and tended to before he picked the fruit and vegetables he’d need to make something to eat. Ended up with cooked carrots and a fruit salad, the male snorted guessing he’d need to feed the boy if he hadn’t had anything to eat, tracing the boys signature and finding him among some of the tallest plants spoke calmly “Dovah, food” setting the boys portion down the male retreated down to a sunny place and began eating flicking the diced fruit into his mouth. He’d have to go out and find some meat soon, the dragon side of him was starting to get grumpy, fully aware that unless the boy got the food quickly that Zii would devour the fruit and vegetables quite happily. It had happened before after all, leaning back he sighed, pulling out his note pad and idly listing somethings down in the strange glyphs that he used. Meanwhile the clydy cross had picked up on the fact that there was someone on his island and that that meant food, had been hanging around where his sense of smell told him where the stranger was. Perking up when the food was placed down he happily trotted over to where it had been set down and looking up cheekily as he knew full well that Eri would get shitty if the garden was stolen from and prepared himself to fully enjoy this meal. | |

| He'd been quite happy left alone, scouting out the island and the plants for what was edible. He’d found the garden quite early on and had been helping himself when he got hungry, not caring if the man got angry with him. He’d been left to his own devices, of course he was going to get up to mischief. Wishing he had his wings back, he eyed the man when he came over with food, wondering if he was hungry enough to bother moving. He’d eaten only an hour or so ago. Deciding that he wasn’t all that hungry, he ignored the horse eating the meal and climbed up the tree he’d been sitting under, getting as high up in the branches as he could. The strange paste had been helping his wrists, so that was nice at least, and they weren’t hurting so much any more. Perching on a high branch, he chattered to the tree, tracing the brand absently. He still didn’t know what it or the black things meant, and he wasn’t sure he exactly wanted to find out. All he knew was that he wasn’t going to be caught by the icy woman again, and that he wanted his wings back so he could fly. He missed it so much, and being at the top of a tree was only a ghost of the feeling. | |

| After eating, the trapped dragon stood in the shallow waters staring up at the sky wistfully, the closest thing to flying he had now was a shout named whirlwind sprint and even then that wasn't much compensation. He'd noticed his garden had been pilfered and with annoyance now he'd remembered, the man turned and quietly locked it with iron. His plants were nto for others to use as they pleased, they were important to him and he needed them, locked inside the glasshouse for now he brushed his fingers over the juniper bush checking that everything was good with it. He spent some time just fluffing around with his plants before he headed back into the underground lair he owned and began going through the books he hadn't touched in centuries. The books on his species of dragon, they were detailed and well mapped out, he knew the information off by heart and for years it'd hurt too much to open them however with another potential dragon of his species, he had to get over it and study. He was hesitant to teach the boy how to shift until he had enough of his blood to do what he wished to do which was create a special elixr for flight. | |

| Sliding down the trunk of the tree a little, the mischievous faerie watched the horse for a few moments before picking a few of the pinecones off the tree. Aiming carefully, he tossed one to land on the horse’s bum with a sharp thwack. Giggling at the response, he amused himself with the game for a while longer, aiming at the horse carefully before throwing each time. Not willing to go back to the rocky room of his own accord, the boy stayed in the tree. He’d begun making another nest high up in the branches, instinctively creating many nests so that he couldn’t be cornered and trapped. Humming quietly to himself, he took his time weaving the branches and leaves, encouraging the tree to grow in the shape that he desired so that it would stay strong and extremely well hidden. | |

Raven: The man showed up the next morning after having locked his glass house the night before, setting down some fruit along with some honey and sugar he settled down to wait absently popping pieces of fruit into his mouth as he did so. Predictably the Faerie eventually showed his head, looking up at him very unconcerned looking Erisidr spoke calmly enough "Sugar and honey for you if you come down and talk with me" the first part of the plan was getting the Faerie down, he wanted to explain to the creature that all he wanted was some more blood samples. Perhaps this Faerie could unlock the secret to getting his wings back, unaware of the irony he continued to toss bits of fruit into his mouth while he waited for the creature to show up. Once it'd come down he studied it and tossed it the small box of sugar keeping the honey, "I'm Erisidr, you can have the honey if you give me some more of you blood to work with"
Wolf: The faerie had kept watch on the horse and his captor, still very wary about what was going to happen to him. Staying hidden when the man showed up, it wasn't long before he became curious enough to slide down the tree a little to have a closer look. Nearly fleeing when he was spotted, the calm voice made him pause for a moment, listening. He did want sugar, he was hungry since he'd discovered the greenhouse locked against him. Deciding that he didn't have to do anything once he got the sugar, he landed lightly on the ground, eyeing the man very warily. Catching the sugar, he was soon back up in the tree, perched on the lowest branch to keep himself safe while he nibbled on the sugar. "Why?"
"I want to see if there is any secrets in what has been done to you that might give us both wings again" he replied smoothly enough quite happy with the fruit although the dragon in him demanded fresh meat at some point. Half tempted to roll his eyes at that part of him, the scruffy looking elf scratched his scruff a brief moment continuing to watch the tricksy creature carefully. "once we both have our wings back, I will set you free with a decent supply of sugar to keep you going" the particular kind of honey he'd brought out was extra sweet enough that the faerie would be very much wanting it at some stage or another. He should try molasses too, seeing what Faeries preferred would be interesting study, however his words when he'd spoken to the faerie had rung with truth, he had no interest in holding the creature past that point. By then hopefully he would have unlocked how the creature was mixed in with dragon, how they could shift into a dragon which hopefully would solve his issue
The fairy snorted almost rudely, working his way contentedly through the sugar. He wasn't going to get his wings back, he'd been told that plenty of times. So that just meant he'd never be freed from here, although it didn't seem like it would be a bad thing. He was fed here, and it was mostly warm enough, though the nights were cooler than he was used to. Considering it, he tilted his head, eyeing the man closely. Eventually devouring half the box, he glanced down at it, and carefully slid down the trunk to place his bare feet on the grass. "honey first," he demanded. He wasn't going to risk not having some sort of food supply, and he supposed he could give the man a little bit more blood. Shifting his shoulders slightly as his missing wings ached, his fixed his silver gaze on the taller man, waiting defiantly for his prize.
Watching as the Faerie slid down he just nodded knowing better than to be bothered arguing, setting his bowl of fruit to the side he revealed the honey and moved closer passing him the honey without complaint. His dark brown gaze was highly curious and interested in the queer being before him, he'd noticed on the creatures scrabble back up the trunk that he'd had black things moving on his back and since he knew he came from ice that meant only one thing. Oh well first things were first, he'd get the creature to trust him and that meant getting to associate himself with positive things like food, hopefully routine would aid all of that as well. "arm please" once he had it he carefully edged the needle into the faerie and drew some more blood. Inspecting the shadows would come at another time "Do not write your wings off Faerie, there are possibilities, like the black she put into your back" with that and leaving his fruit there for the insufferable horse Erisidr wandered off
Pleased with the honey prize, the faerie twitched at the prick of the needle, aiming a narrow look at his captor. He wanted to be out of reach of being hurt again. Ignoring what was said about his wings, he waited until the man was gone before nicking the fruit and vanishing up the tree to his nest again. Content back in his nest, he tucked the honey away in favour for the fruit. It would go off sooner, after all. Happily nomming on it, he scratched t the place the needle had gone in, very much disliking it, and got onto coaxing a blanket out of the tree's leaves. He was cold, and without his wings, he couldn't keep himself warm. Making the blanket took him most of the day, and the fruit and sugar were finished by the time he was done. Nestling down in the high nest, he settled down to sleep, wondering if maybe he'd get more sugar the next day.
At precisely the same time the next morning the man was there again, happily eating fruit, sitting on the same rock he had been the other two days. Completely ignoring the Faerie up in the trees his thoughts were centered around the blood, since he was well aware that the creature wouldn't be able to leave here, he was more than willing to figure out how to make his wings work. The blood work he had would do for now for himself, crunching into a piece of crisp pineapple he aimlessly leaned back and looked up towards the sky occasionally flicking a finger and shaping the clouds into various shapes. It kept him busy until a flicker of moment caught his attention, spotting the Faerie he gave a lazy wave, he'd have to come down if he wanted to eat, although the male was prepared to be somewhat flexible after all. Maybe today he'd get a name, if not he'd just go with the term hatchling as he was clearly so young and inexperienced
It was like clockwork, which both reassured and alarmed the young faerie. He liked routine, and he studied the man through the leaves for a while longer before slipping down to the lowest branch again. Ignoring the wave, the silver eyes remained focused on the other man, trying to work him out. He'd decided today would not include blood at all, so whatever was going to happen next would be interesting. At least he'd have an easy escape route up the tree to get out of reach. Swinging his legs gently as he perched on the branch, his thoughts flitted to the honey he'd been given the day before. It was sweeter than any other sort of honey he'd found before, and he wanted more of it. he was just wary of what would be demanded in return.
Holding up another small carton of sugar in his hand he absently tossed it to him, in order with experiments today it was Raw sugar, it'd be interesting to see the creatures response to it after all he wasn't too sure if he'd ever had it before. "Have you got a name or will I be restricted to calling you Hatchling?" he finally asked flicking his fingers and amusedly watching the clouds shape turn into a dragon before being blown away by the wind. His magic kept the crater warm, as he needed his plants to be kept alive and well especially since he relied on them for creating various things, from spicing food to making deadly poisons. Growing bored of the clouds he tucked his hands behind his head happily basking in the warmth of the sun, he'd done this before with all kinds of creatures, at least the faerie hadn't tried to kill him yet
Catching the sugar nimbly, the creature opened it and sniffed it, curious about it. It was strange sugar, and coloured funny. Wary of what might have been added to it, he decided to wait til later to try it out. Flicking his gaze to the very strangely calm man, he considered the question before giving his name. "Atrel." He wasn't expecting it to be used, but it was in trade for the sugar of course. Ignoring the clouds, he also ignored the man, climbing back to his nest before scooting out onto a branch to sit in the sun. Happily soaking it in, he inspected the black things under his skin, curious about the way they moved about.
Erisidr filed the name away for later, instead staying in the sun for quite a long time, his eyes closing and absently basking. Even in this insufferable weak form he loved resting in the sun, almost falling asleep there he caught himself, wary of sleeping with a tricksy creature about. Instead he got up and vanished back into the underground lair that had taken him a few hundred years to build and another few hundred years to fully deck it out. It was now well furnished although not extravagantly indeed the most posh place in his home was his library that was massive, thousand upon thousands of books were stored here with magic keeping the place clean and safe for many of the ancient tomes. The single fire place in his entire home was found here as well as he enjoyed reading in the warmth
Happier when the man left, it wasn't long before the faerie was on the ground and exploring the island again, even though he hated it. He was so tempted to find a way back into the glass house where the treats were, but that'd be a later project. For now, he returned back to his nest, testing the strangely coloured sugar. Deciding that he liked it more than other sugar, it wasn't long before it was all finished, and the box tossed carelessly out of the tree to land on the ground. Wondering if the horse would come back in range, he began to collect a good stash of pinecones, and a sly smirk crossed his face. if the man came back, he'd be able to aim at him too.
The horse showed up to inspect the box, sniffing it curiously and appearing somewhat disappointed that there was nothing left for it, moseying over the rock and finding a few stray bits of fruit left that had not been eaten the stallion hoovered them up quite happily. Spotting the Faerie in the trees it flicked its tail rudely before scampering out of pine cone reach, the elf again showed up at the same time, any pinecones that were biffed disappointingly disintegrated a meter or so away from him he'd worked on magic shields ever since his first subject some time ago. When the Faerie stuck his head out and ended up on the right branch as usual the sugar was tossed up to him, he studied the small pot of molasses and of honey unsure what one would be best. in the end he decided he'd leave both since they were small, if the creature didn't like the molasses he was sure he'd soon find out. As per usual he stayed for a couple of hours in the sun before buggering off again
Managing to hit the horse with at least one pinecone, the faerie was gleeful enough to try aiming at his captor. Annoyed when the pinecones just fell apart, he somewhat reluctantly slid down to the branch, unsure if he'd be grabbed at or not. Grabbing the sugar, he kept a close eye on the tall man, still wary about being grabbed and hurt for throwing pinecones at him. Ignoring him until he left, the faerie promptly took both jars and vanished up his tree. He was liking the stash of extra food he was making now, since the box of sugar was enough to keep him going, the honeys and new food were there as extra treats and for testing. Curious about the dark sticky stuff, he hummed softly when he tasted it, liking it the best. Perched on a branch, he spent the day watching the horse wandering as he finished off the molasses. Dropping out of the tree as the sun vanished, he left the empty jar on the rock and headed back up to sleep, content with his pickings for the day.
Finding the jar the next morning he suspected that the Molasses had been a hit, since there was an empty jar waiting for him. Looking up at the Faerie he called out "Tip with the molasses, if you add water to a small bit you can get it to last longer" he was really curious about the shadows on the boys back enough for him to toss the raw sugar up to him and add "I'll give you extra today if you come and sit long enough for me to examine your back, no touching" if the faerie said no then he'd just give him the honey not the molasses. He only needed what five minutes to determine exactly what was going on with what he suspected were shadows. If he could determine that then he'd be well on his way to teaching the boy how to form wings that he might fly again. The flying part important to him as he himself knew what it was like to be without wings
He'd been waiting for him on the branch, hidden of course, but it was a few steps more than when he'd first been released onto the island. Coming into view, he perched on the branch in time to catch the sugar and sat there, swinging his legs. Scratching absently at the slight bruise from the needle still, he titled his head. "no blood." He was sick of that, and it bored him now. When he had his answer, he disappeared up the tree long enough to store the sugar with the reset of his stash, and came back down again, landed soundlessly on the grass below his tree. Determined not to be touched at all, he kept a safe distance, wary about what was going to happen next. He wasn't sure this was the best idea, but the dark sticky stuff had been so good, and he wanted more of it.
"No blood" he agreed, watching him slip down the tree he rolled the full molasses jar across the grass to the boy once he had it he stared at the boys back watching the shadows questions coming to his lips without warning "Do they hurt when they move? Have you noticed them moving in correlation with your thoughts?" pending answers he might have solved the boys problems. If those were shadows then he could make his own wings, and at least his blood would provide Erisidr with some knowledge of what had happened and what might be able to help himself. He'd guessed he'd have to sweeten the pot quite literally and so rolled the other pot of molasses towards the boy so he'd answer the questions for him
Happy with the treat, he allowed the study of his back, still making sure to keep out of reach just in case. Throwing a wary look at his captor at the questions, he was about to refuse when a second jar was rolled over to him. Chewing on his lip a moment, he decided that it was enough payment and answered the questions. "No." He hadn't bothered seeing what made the shadows move, he just knew that they did, and he had no wings any more. Opening the jar, he didn't notice the shadows moving in response to his happiness at the treat.
Noticing the shadows moving a slight smile flicked onto his face "If you do me a favour and keep an eye on if your shadows do move in response to your thoughts and let me know in a few days i'll make sure Molasses is a steady part of your diet during your stay here. Thank you for your time" and with that he left knowing it was not a good idea to push him more than he had already today. Today had been progress, so he was quite satisfied with that, he wandered down to the lake and touched his hands to the cool water lapping at the island before he sighed and lifted the water to his lips for a drink, splashing it in his face afterwards to wake him up some more
He'd done as he'd been asked, since he did like his molasses. Finding that the shadows did indeed move to his thoughts, it made him more curious about them, so he'd been more open to letting his captor study the strange black things. Humming quietly to himself, the faerie wandered the island quite comfortably now, not bothered by the horse, or the old man sneaking up on him. For some reason he hadn't even tried to sneak up on him, and that in turn was helping the young fae relax more in his captivity. Finding a nice sunny spot, he settled there to start making shapes out of blades of grass, weaving the short green stems together with ease. He wanted to be flying again so badly, enough that he paused in what he was doing to look up at the sky with longing. Giving a sigh, he forced himself to focus back on his creation. he wasn't going to fly again.
He was always careful to never be silent when looking for the faerie so he knew he wasn't being snuck up on. Standing a few meters away he spoke calmly as ever "hatchling, I've found a way to give you wings again, however I ask that if this works that you stay and aide me in my quest to have my wings returned to me. As a token of good faith try this" he offered the creature a small container of proper maple syrup from his own select grove that was hidden from tricksy sweet toothed creatures. Passing it to him when possible he awaited the creatures response assuming that he'd end up being rejected or told that he'd never have his wings back. Erisidr knew quite well that there was a barrier around the crater not allowing anything in or out without his say so it was why he had his own bee hives as well although they were also hidden away. It was why his honey was so tasty, it didn't have anything added to it, it was pure honey good and simple. Ignoring his itchy scruff he absently remembered when he'd had wings and ended up watching the sky with longing on his features and in his dark brown eyes. His old black dusty and tattered cloak moved about him as a gentle breeze toyed with the leaves of the trees and the males hair. He had some brown sugar on him as well if the faerie thought he required extra bribing he was one of the easier characters to work with - food was easy enough to come by
Barely glancing up when the man spoke, the faerie ignored him for a while, focused on finishing his grass creation. Letting the small deer figure gallop around him, he finally flicked a glance at the tall man, unsure of the answer he wanted to give. "If I don't?" He didn't move to touch the offering, wanting to know the consequences first. it was highly likely that he'd accept, he wanted his wings back so badly, after all, but it never hurt to be on the safe side. Distracted by the grass deer, he brushed delicate fingers over the creature's head before turning his attention back to the man. He was finding that he was half enjoying it here, and he wasn't sure that was good thing. But he had nice food, and it was barely bothered, and there wasn't any danger that he could determine, it didn't look like poachers or any sort of humans could come onto the island. Recognising the look of longing on the man's face, he tilted his head, waiting for the response to his question first.

His attention was caught by the folded grass deer leaping about, at the question he just shrugged "then I won't teach you how to work it all. I sincerely hope you will help me, you know what it's liked to be without wings, I've been without them for Millenia" he wasn't a fan of sounding like he was begging for help, however he could only hope the frisky fae would agree to help him. He'd learnt much from the blood of the creature and by observing the shadows that flicked over the faeries skin. He watched the creature brushed gentle fingers over the deers head, his own gaze flicked out to the lake he could see from here. He wasn't sure if he even remembered how to fly, the memories getting progressively dimmer as time slipped through his fingers. Indeed he was so old time had long since lost his meaning, he'd start creating a book and in that short time to him several years would have flicked by. His species of dragon were loners by choice too many in one place meaning fights often started, however Millenia of being his only kind left alive and then long hundreds of years that he'd long since stopped counting as a human-elf cross bred were part of the reason he'd started collecting creatures to study a strange way of finding company but on his terms. He had a feeling the faerie would agree, but one never knew a hundred percent, his gaze up at the sky and clouds flicked down to the much shorter male who appeared to be of the opinion that shirts were optional. He kept his wariness of the fae to himself, hidden, instead he scratched his jaw the scruff itchy again awaiting his answer
Eyeing the man, and sorely tempted by the sweet treat, the fae considered the offer for a while. He was fairly sure that there would be something stopping him from leaving once he could fly, so it wasn’t really like he had much choice in the matter. Watching the deer prancing about, his nimble fingers made a mate for the doe, the fae concentrating with a frown on the difficult antlers. Once he was done, and both deer were leaping about, he looked up at his captor again. Happy in the sun and soaking up the warmth, he reached for the jar of maple syrup, inspecting it curiously. Having no wings was terrible, and he couldn’t imagine being grounded for so long. “Okay,” he said simply, sending a charming smile at the old man. “Since you asked so very nicely.” A tiny glimpse of his darker nature came through, the dangerous manipulative side, but he hid it away, uninterested in working on his captor. He was too old to fall for cheeky fae tricks.
He looked completely unmoved by the response and the charming smile, a bonus of living so long was that you ended up not giving a shit no matter what others did. "Turn around and show me your back again Faerie" once he had, the dragon moved forward investigating the shadows there a moment more before speaking "Think about what your wings looked like, what they felt like, what it felt like to fly with them build a 3d mental image of them. Nod once you have it" watching the shadows shiver and flicker underneath the faes skin once the boy began doing what he'd said. Erisidr moved and touched his fingers to the other males skin, using his magic to encourage the shadows, they obeyed his gentle request and at the mental image that their owner was focusing on whispered to themselves before finally forming themselves into wings identical to the ones the boy had lost only a deep black. Rocking back on his heels contentedly Erisidr spoke "You'll find you'll consume more sugar now as that is what feeds the shadows, however you'll be able to carry heavier loads, fly for longer and be very resistant to damage as well as keeping you warmer than your previous wings" satisfied that that was all, he turned his thoughts towards his own wings, perhaps studying the shadows would unlock some secrets, even false wings would do although not the same as the mighty wings he had as a dragon it was better than nothing.
Obeying after a slight hesitation, the faerie made no complaints about the man inspecting his back. Unsure why thinking about them would help, he nevertheless did, remembering his wings, and doing as he was told. He shivered when he was touched, pulling away slightly. Touch wasn’t nice, touch would only hurt him, despite the agreement they’d come to. It was a strange feeling as his wings unfurled, and he glanced over his shoulder to study them. They were exactly the same, just a different colour, but he liked the black. It suited his nature far more than the old pale silver ones had. Opening and closing them experimentally, he moved his gaze to his captor, more curious about him now. “Thank you.” He spoke softly but sincerely, more inclined to help the older man now. “What do you need now?” He didn’t mind having to need more sugar, it was tasty, and if it meant having his wings back, then it was only a small price to pay. Fluttering the delicate black wings, he grinned as he tested them out, more than pleased with the bargain.
"for now? Nothing, I plan to study you more, I don't know if you remember it or not, but Ice has turned you into a species of dragon I'm rather invested in. I want to learn how she did it, some of which I have got from the blood I took the rest will have to be through study, trial and error" the tall dark eyed man kept his mouth shut about being a dragon himself, no better that the faerie believed it was just because he was curious about his species than anything else. Highly reluctant to let the shorter man know anything than what he absolutely had to, listening to the birds that had long made this warm pocket of air their permanent home Erisidr turned and began wandering along back towards his lair in the depths of the volcano. His hands slipping into his pockets, the man absently let his thoughts wander, mostly towards what had happened to get him stuck in this insufferable form
The faerie shivered slightly, the words bringing up foggy memories of being in a lot of pain. “I’m no dragon.” Deciding not to follow the man this time, he darted about instead, testing his wings and working out their new limits before darting back to his nest happily with his prizes to keep them safe while he re-explored the island. What his captor wanted from him was interesting enough to the faerie that he was happy to go along, his natural curiosity making him want to stick his nose in everywhere and find out what was going on. Now that he had wings, it was far easier to sneak up on the irritating horse and peg pinecones at it. Giggling happily at the reactions, it didn’t take long for him to map out where he could and couldn’t go. Discovering the barrier around the crater, he didn’t touch it, able to feel the pulse of magic. He didn’t like still being trapped, but he supposed it made sense now that he had wings. Returning to his tree, he settled in the nest happily, much warmer now with thicker wings. Perhaps tomorrow the strange non-elf would explain more what he wanted from him.
As usual the man was there waiting the next morning, the usual box of sugar with him, and next to it a packet of something, the writing was too small to read from the faeries perch. Instead of fruit this morning the male was drinking something out of a cup, perched on the rock waiting patiently Eri didn't move to toss the faerie its sugar until he was closer.
With his wings folded neatly along his back, the faerie was much happier to come down in the morning to see the man, more confident in his ability to escape if he really had to. Spotting the sugar, he edged closer along the branch, still not liking the idea of being on the ground too. “What’s in the packet?” He caught the box of sugar easily, settling on the branch to swing his legs as he ate his breakfast. The old man had turned out to be right, he could feel the difference in how hungry he was now that he had the black wings. Soon the sugar was completely gone, and he watched the man with bright silver eyes, ever curious. “What are you planning?”
"Something called Chocolate chips, rather sugary and something different for your faerie self" he tapped his fingers against the rock "However you get it in exchange for answering some of my questions about your experience with ice" once the creature had agreed he tossed it up to him and revealed a clipboard and a pen "Do you remember much about what she did to you?" he queried almost looking like he needed glasses perched upon his nose to complete the picture
Intrigued, the faerie hopped down from the branch, perching on an exposed root instead. “Okay.” He’d agreed to help, and now that he was being rewarded with different kinds of sugar, he was glad that he had. Inspecting the new treat, he nearly missed the question that was posed of him. Wrinkling his nose when he realised, he shook his head. “It hurt. She took my wings, and gave me what you keep calling shadows.” He shrugged a little at that. “Don’t really remember much else. Just a lot of pain.” He’d been bound in iron, and she hadn’t fed him much, so he couldn’t really remember what had been going on.
Noticing how the shadows moved Erisidr considered his options "Shadows are little creatures, one upon a time they were used by shadow dragons who over time evolved human counterparts, the human counterparts are all who are left now and control the little things as they wish. Now that they're in your skin they'll obey you" falling silent he scribbled a couple of things down in his short hand before asking a few more indepth questions and writing down the shadows response's rather than the faes response. The answers were enough that he was fairly confident he could run a few tests and simulations. he stood and tucked the clip board away into one of his many pockets and gave a nod towards the fae "Thank you for your cooperation"
Interested in the information, the faerie struggled with answering the questions, unable to remember much about the process at all. It didn’t seem to be much of an issue though, his captor still writing down things regardless. More than curious about it now, he flew over to the man, poking his nose into things. “Why?” He wanted to know what was going on, this man was intriguing him, and the questions had been weird enough to make the faerie wanted to know more. “What are you going to do now?” The influx of sugar had brightened him right back up to his usually curious chirpy self, and now that it seemed quite clear he wasn’t going to get hurt, he didn’t mind poking his nose into things and asking questions. “What’s so interesting about me and my wings.”
Surprised when the faerie came after him, he glanced over his shoulder at the creature that had apparently decided that he wasn't out to get him after all. Deciding he might as well open up about what was going on the male sighed a long, world weary long suffering sigh "To run some tests based on the information you've given me" however it wasn't long before he got an another annoying question "The fact that ice ripped out your wings and replaced them with shadows is fascinating but that's not what I'm studying.... yet" that however would be a fascinating subject to study in the future if the faerie stuck around long enough once he was free.
“What sort of tests?” Hovering along beside the man as he walked, the faerie continued to nibble at the chocolate treat, curious gaze trained on his captor. “Why do you want to run tests? Why aren’t you studying the shadows yet? When will you?” Pestering him with questions the cheeky faerie didn’t seem to mind that he was heading indoors and down into the rocky lair place. He could dart out when he wanted now, he wasn’t going to get stuck there. “How are you going to test just words?”
Scowling at the annoying gnat he huffed and snapped "Its none of your business why i'm running tests, Shadows are a lessor priority right now so they will be studied in a few months time if these tests are successful. It'd take too long to explain to you how I'm going to run the tests so if you absolutely must know how about you shut your yapper and let me work while you watch?" more than aware he was being rather cold towards the Faerie his reason was that he wasn't used to company at all. Much less all of these questions, hoping that he'd be left alone if he was his usual grumpy irritable self he was soon in his lab and warned the Faerie "touch anything and I'll cut off your hands and keep them in a jar" with that he began working
Grinning at how easy it was to irritate him, the faerie followed a little more quietly, unable to resist a couple more questions. “So why are the shadows a lesser priority? What’s more important than them to you?” Looking around the lab curiously, the little faerie found a perch that seemed quite safe and out of the way, letting his wings relax against his back as he settled there. “What are you doing now?” He’d thoroughly ignored that he’d been asked to be quiet, that wasn’t fun at all, so why would he be?
"My wings" Erisidr snapped, finding a place to sit down and think he closed his eyes for a few moments going over everything he'd learnt from the shadows again. She'd found a fossilized one of his kin, had used magic far beyond her capabilities to turn stone into bone and living flesh again before attatching it to the boy and using his soul to power it. His head hurt from it all, how the hell had she managed it, ending up lighting one of his various pipes he leaned back and began trying to think. Whoever had helped her was the key really, he didn't know enough without knowing whoever this was, there were only a few creatures he was aware of capable of such things and they would certainly not help her. He sighed and stood again beginning to put together a rough experiment trying to find exactly what kind of magic had to happen for it all to work
The faerie grinned, swinging his legs against his perch as he watched the man. He wrinkled his nose at the smell of the pipe, but decided it would be best to keep quiet this time. Studying the rest of the room quietly as Erisidr thought, Atrel perked up a little when the old man moved, curious about what was going to happen next. “What are you doing now?” Just in case he got targeted with more than words, he stayed where he was on his high perch, watching everything that was happening curiously.
"i'm going to see what kind of magic was specifically needed to make you into a dragon" he explained taking a deep puff of his pipe, holding it between his teeth he got to work. Spending the rest of the afternoon completely ignoring the faerie as he tested, examined sometimes swore and started again, he clearly forgot what the time was and that he had a spectator so into his work he became. He worked late into the night, and didn't do much other than study and preform his experiments for several days the faeries food being delivered by magic. Finally done, he made his way out of his underground home to stand in the sun
Snorting again at the mention of being a dragon, it wasn’t long before the faerie got bored and darted back outside. Amusing himself like he’d been doing anyway, he was humming to himself and expanding his nest when he noticed the elf man come out. Wandering over and hovering nearby, he tilted his head. “Are you done? What are you going to do now?” He was curious about why he was still not allowed to leave, but he really didn’t mind being here. It was peaceful, and he liked his peace.
"have a good long think in the sun and then probably sleep for a while" he replied a little raspily from not having spoken much since he'd begun his work. His pipe wasn't with him this time, instead he found a place to lie back in the longish green grass and closed his eyes basking in the sun. Half expecting more questions he mentally prepared himself for it, the next project he got was going to be a blasted mute he decided
Tilting his head the other way, the faerie fluttered forward, cheekily positioning himself in the air in front of the sun to annoy the elf. “Haven’t you been sleeping? Aren’t you hungry? What are you thinking about?” The weird things that he’d been doing in the white room had been interesting enough to the fae, and he wanted to know more. “Did you finish now? Or are you just taking a break to sleep?” Getting more comfortable as he hovered, he crossed his legs, propped his chin on his hand. “What are you going to do with me now? Since I can’t leave. But you don’t seem to be wanting to do anything with me right now.”

Scowling as the sun was blocked he opened his eyes and glared at the Faerie "not answering a single one of your questions until you're out of the sun you pest" clearly quite shitty he scowled and didn't stop until the fae was out of the sun. "Hunger and sleep are things I can ignore for days on end hatchling, especially once you've been around long enough." relaxing in the warm rays of the sun it was surprising how the warmth soothed him and settled him down. "I've finished for now, i'll have to collect some samples off of you eventually" yawning the dragon added "Now shut up and let me bask in the sun"
Only giggling at the grumpy words, he still moved out of the way of the sun. he wanted answers to his questions. “What sort of samples? And when?” he persisted, thoroughly uncaring that the elf wanted to sleep. He was just opening himself up to more questions now. “What are you going to do with the samples?” Details were everything, it meant he could work out what he was going to do next with knowing all of the information. Giving a soft hum, he got a little distracted after the answers, watching the shadows moving about under his skin.
Snorting he grumbled just wanting to sleep "A few hairs, yanked out, cutting them dosent work. With the samples I'm going to determine what magic was used on you" yawning and stretching out in the warmth of the sun the elf sighed and turned his head opening his eyes to watch the faerie guessing he wouldn't get any sleep until the annoying shit had finished flapping his gums. He was exhausted from the hard work he'd just done over the course of about three days if he was counting the days correctly of course it could have been months for all he knew - time just didn't matter anymore
“Huh.” That was interesting, but at least it seemed less painful than his blood being taken. Wrinkling his nose a little at the memory, he abruptly grew bored of hanging around the dragon and zipped off. Collecting a few pinecones, he snuck up on the annoying horse again, pegging a few well aimed cones at the animal’s rump before dissolving into a fit of giggles at the reaction. It was so much fun teasing the horse, and it couldn’t do anything to catch up now that he had wings. Humming softly to himself, he exploring around the island, eventually coming back to his tree to tend to his nest and strengthen it. It seemed like he was going to be stuck here a while, so it would be good to get a proper nest.
Half asleep in the sun, basking in the rays again likely bc is starting to come into winter and wont be able to enjoy the sun for a while. Probably has boosted the warmth of the bubble since theres a faerie around, pipe at side and half touched fruit that got bored of half way through. Managed to finally figure out who Ices magical aide is, so v v smug and pleased with self
Poking around, Atrel discovered the half eaten fruit and simply nicked it, hovering like usual in mid air while he ate it comfortably. “What are you doing?” He didn’t care that the elf was likely asleep or almost there. He wanted to know what was going on, and what was going to happen next. “You look smug. What did you find out?” Putting his back to the sun to soak up the warmth, he was careful now to keep out of the sun’s way for the elf. He got grumpy when that happened, and while it was amusing, he wanted answers to his questions more.
"well I WAS trying to sleep until some pesky gnat showed up stole my food and hovered in mid air asking irritating questions" his voice was snarky and cutting as it was most days "I've pinpointed the kind of magic and who the magic belonged to of the person who helped add something to you" opening his eyes he studied the faerie quite closely his dark brown gaze narrowed - at least the pesky pixie had learnt to keep out of the sun that he basked in so much
Grinning, Atrel munched on the fruit, meeting the narrow annoyed gaze without a flinch. “Well you’re awake now,” he said chirpily. “So what does that information do now? Does it mean you’ve worked everything out?” Finding that a couple of the grapes had seeds, he wrinkled his nose and flicked them towards Erisidr casually. “You weren’t eating the fruit. Makes it fair game now.”
"It means I've put together some of the puzzle, however with those questions answered it only presents more questions I have to figure out the answer to" he explained, spotting the seeds he lifted a hand and clenched it into a fist watching with satisfaction as the grape seeds shot up the faeries nose. Tucking his hands behind his head and wriggling to settle himself down into the grass more he sighed with satisfaction "Had fun torturing Zii with pine cones gnat?" privately he was a little half and half about the honey-eaters company. It was somewhat pleasant to have someone else there, but the annoyingness of constant questions and irritating giggles was outweighing the good.
About to ask another few questions, the sensation of the seeds going up his nose sent the faerie into gales of laughter, not at all bothered by it. Sneezing to get them out, he flicked a whole grape at the elf instead, still grinning. So the elf had a sense of humour too, that was fun to find out. “What sort of questions? How are you gonna figure out the answers to those?” Unfortunately out of fruit now, he settled on the grass to begin weaving the blades together, waiting for answers. “The horse is good target practice.” He was innocent of anything else, of course.
Rather than stopping it he just opened his mouth and allowed his magic to guide it into his mouth, "How the hell did ice manage to get such a powerful creature to help her, I'll have to do some severe nosying to find out exactly how this all came about. Hopefully I can do it from my home if not i'll have to leave here for a few months" his only issue with leaving was of course the faerie as he didn't trust it to have the self control to ration out a hoarde of sugar. That meant he'd possibly have to let it go and despite the fact it'd give him some sweet peace and quiet - that if he needed more information again he'd have to find the damn thing
“What creature?” Now he was even more curious, especially with the prospect of the elf leaving for a while. He was sure there had to be a store of sugar somewhere, and if he could find it, now that would be fun. “You’re leaving? When?” Focused on his grass making, he flicked a silvery glance at the elf, waiting somewhat patiently for his answers.
"Its not a certainty that I'm leaving yet, so don't get your hopes up hatchling" he knew very well that the faerie now had the capability to turn into a dragon, hence the nickname hatchling as the faerie was so much younger than him. "one I haven't come across in centuries, I thought they were all dead" he explained quietly his brows furrowing, he ignored any other questions about the creature feeling very conflicted and unsure of what exactly to do about it.
He grumped, frowning down at the fox he was making out of the grass. He wanted to explore the lair a bit more, see what else he could get up to mischief to while he wouldn’t be caught. Ignoring the names that he was being called, he soon had a whole family of foxes, and set them upon the elf, the figures scampering over the elf’s body cheekily. Cocking his head to the side for a moment, he whispered softly to the grass, encouraging it to grow up and around the elf and cling to him. He wanted to see what happened.
If he was honest he was surprised the faerie wasn't demanding to be released, watching the family of foxes scamper to him he didn't brush them off instead fingers quietly ran over them. As much of a shit the faerie was he was good at making things out of grass and plants, as expected of a faerie, when the grass started growing up and clinging to him he just laughed. It didn't bother him, if anything the laugh was surprising, deep and rich it rumbled in his chest, quite comfortable where he was he didn't stop the grass instead he just kept himself aware in case the faerie decided to try his luck at killing him. His features grew hard however when he remembered the creature he now had to sort out, Ice couldn't keep such a powerful thing in her possession, it was dangerous. A hand lifted gently pulling free of the grass to rub his forehead as he sighed, what was he going to do, the first thing would be trying to find the fucking thing and that'd be a mission and a half.
Flaring out his wings absently to soak up the sun, Atrel watched the elf curiously. It was strange that he didn’t seem to care about the foxes, or the grass that was growing up and around him. The laugh was surprising, but the faerie grinned in response, pleased that he’d been able to coax some sort of humour from the older man. Uninterested in trying to kill him, he stayed quiet for once, half asleep in the warm sun. He loved being in the sun, and shivered absently at the thought of having to go back to the rocky room. It was half the reason why he’d behaved, mostly. He didn’t want to be locked back up again. Still wanting to know about the creature, he studied the elf, wondering if he could push his luck. “What’s the creature?” Already making something else out of the grass, it was good to keep his fingers busy as he chatted, liking the challenge of making the grass bend and shape to his will.
The elf was silent, for a long time, finally he spoke "an enchantress, an ancient breed that ruled as pharaohs during the height of ancient Egypt." He disliked talking about them on a whole, "ridiculously powerful they can be bound and forced to obey. I'd love to know how she got her hands on it" lowering his hand to rest it on his face he didn't speak afterwards. He wasn't sure if he could take on the creature and win, however if he was lucky he could potentially seal it in a jar or something of the same calibre. He'd have to try scrying first and see if he could garner anything from that, underneath his layers of snark and grumpiness he was admittedly worried. He knew what Ice was, although he told himself he only cared because Ice would want himself and his library under her control and so would send the creature after him.
“An enchantress?” That was interesting. Though that they could be bound and forced to serve wasn’t so fun. Shivering at that thought since humans seemed so eager to do that to all the creatures, the faerie was silent for a while, thinking it through. “What will you do if you find that out?” he finally asked, apparently getting his chirpy nature back in full swing. And that meant questions spilled out of him, no matter how much they annoyed the elf. “Are they common? Stronger than you? How'd she find it? Can you stop it? What did it and her do to me that you're so interested in?” Tilting his head, he considered his last question before blurting that one out as well. “Elves don’t have wings. So what are you that’s so interested in all this?” It didn’t make sense at all, and he wanted to know what was going on.
The questions added to the headache that was starting to form "im the last member of a long extinct species of dragon. The first dragons. They turned you into a dragon of that species, im so interested because I want to turn back into my true self. I'll have to stop Ice and capture the creature, they're exceedingly rare now the fact she got hold of one is a miracle let alone getting it to obey her. I don't know if this one is stronger than myself or not, I'm far older but it brought a fossilised dragon back from the dead. As for stopping it, if I die the wards here will fail and you'll be free" making an unhappy noise at the pain in his head at it all he got up and vanished into his lair returning with a cup of tea that had had some extras added and sculled it with a disgusted twitch of his lips.
“Hm.” Again, the faerie was silent for a long while as he took in all the information, all the answers to his questions. He didn’t like the idea at all of being a dragon himself, and promptly ignored that fact. He wouldn’t ever need to do anything like that, so he didn’t care. It made sense that the elf was a dragon, he seemed bad tempered enough to be one, after all. Blinking at the unhappy noise, he studied the man when he came back out, watching half amused as the fox family seemed to have taken a liking to him and settled on his shoulders and lap quite comfortably. Wanting to know why he was stuck as an elf, the faerie managed to keep that question away, guessing that it would be a painful one. Well aware now that if he could manage to kill the elf-dragon, he’d be free, he filed that bit of information away too. Perhaps he’d use it someday, perhaps he wouldn’t. It depended on how things went. Looking up at the sky, he considered many things, ending up wandering away from his captor to perch on a branch near his nest and think about things. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, whether he demand to be freed, or if he’d hang around and see the chaos that would come out of all of this. Both options were appealing.

| Ignoring the fox family he sat outside in the sun thinking it all through quietly, as the sun began to set he got up and stretched before heading back into his volcanic lair. He soaked himself for a while in the hot springs he'd installed some time ago before dragging himself to his bed and falling asleep there, awake early the next morning he left the sugar on the rock breaking his normal routine of sitting and talking the faerie instead he went down to the lake and spoke words that smoothed the surface out until it was like a mirror. Summoning his magic that he'd built up over the many thousands of years he'd endured, the dragon held ice in his mind while speaking a specialized shout he'd created just for this. Watching the images that soon danced upon the still surface before him, his face grew more and more grim
Wondering why the elf hadn't stayed around to talk, the faerie simply shrugged it off and took his sugar, happily munching on it while he considered what was going to happen to him now. He was quite fond of his new wings, they were keeping him nice and warm - and of course he could fly again. So he didn't particularly want to run the risk of them being taken again. Deciding based on that that he should probably stick around to see what the scaley wanted, the faerie sighed. Finished with the sugar, he contented himself with strengthening his nest in the tree, beginning to make a roof for him for when it would rain again. Happy with it so far, he spotted the elf standing at the lake and flitted over to him, hovering in the air next to his captor. "What are you doing? Who are you spying on? Why?" He peered at the images, highly curious about what was going on. "Are you going to be leaving?" That would be interesting - would the faerie be allowed to leave, or would he be stuck here alone. | |

| Engrossed in his observation, he didn't hear the Faerie until it spoke, lifting his head and shooting it a dark look he resumed watching the water until he let the magic go and the vision upon the water faded. Digesting the shadow winged faes's words he mulled over what he was going to do, it looked like he'd have to go and he was hesitant to leave the fae behind incase he ruined his nice neat home. "i was Scrying, I was spying on ice and the creature she's got to help her, because she should not have had the ability to give you what she has. THat takes a kind of magic far stronger than her, thanks to the scrying i have figured out what exactly it is" flicking a gaze at the fae the male got back up onto his feet using his staff. Leaning on it his mind flickered over everything that had to be done "I will be leaving, and you'll be coming with me. Why? Because I'm sure you'd like to cause some chaos to the woman who hurt and ripped your wings from you. I'm going to infiltrate her, and you'd have plenty of time to make chaos" and in the process he might be able to find out more information about how the cursed bitch had made the Faerie a dragon. | |

| Sitting in mid air, the faerie tilted his head to the side, watching his captor curiously as he listened. “That egyptian enchantress right?” Perking up at the idea of being out of the crater, he already began planning the mischief he could cause. “Tis a bit of a risk, grumpy. What’s to stop me leaving once I’m free of here?” He wanted to be free again, but he could guess that the grumblebum would want to keep him around more for more of his strange studies. Getting slightly distracted by the shininess of the water, he watched the surface of the lake for a while before returning his attention to his captor again. Deciding he was hungry again, he darted over to the edge of the lake, where he’d found a particularly sweet type of flower. Settling there, he proceeded to snack and wait for the response. “Might not want to stay captive any more. It’s really not fun.” He sent a cheeky smirk over at the old elf, waiting to see what would happen. | |

| The man just shrugged "Alright then, I'll leave you here, i can't guarantee you'll have enough honey to last the entire time, although I could probably magic it so if you try to flee you loose your wings but i'd rather not have to do that" turning around he began making his way towards his underground stores running through everything he'd need to bring with him. The Faerie could make up its mind, he didn't particularly care either way, there was a part of him that entertained the notion of just setting him free. He was rather irritating and the dragon liked his solitude away from the rest of the world he'd long stopped following, indeed it'd been some two thousand years since he'd paid any real attention to what was going on. Certainly he'd made his infrequent trips about the globe but that had mainly been to gather supplies both common and rare to keep his stocks up to date, mostly it was collecting books as he aimed to have a copy of every book written in his impressive library. | |

| Humming softly to himself as he snacked on the flowers and listened, the faerie considered his choices. Stay and get bored and maybe starve, or go and be bound to the elf, but he’d be at least a little more free than what he was now. It really seemed like a no brainer to him, so he darted after the elf, flicking a few leftover flower stems at him. “I would say it’s a no brainer, grumblebum,” he said cheerfully. “Freer and I get to cause mischief.” Beginning to hum again, he inspected the last flower that he’d picked and sucked the nectar out of it before finishing off the petals happily. “Is the target practice going to come too?” A cheeky smirk crossed the creature’s face at the thought of teasing the horse even more when it couldn’t run away from him. | |
