PostSubject: The Silver Lamp   The Silver Lamp I_icon_minitimeSun Aug 19, 2018 8:18 pm

Roughly eight thousand years ago, a young shadow master named Damien was cursed to be trapped within a silver lidded lamp. Eventually after passing from owner to owner his most recent owner a dragon named Erisidr tired of toying with him and left him in an old op shop to be discovered.

She'd been combing through the various opshops in the city searching for something for her mothers birthday, despite disliking how overly stifling her mother was Lyra loved her. She was currently in an oddities phase so the brown eyed woman was in a cream skirt, dark brown boots, black tights, a long sleeved black shirt with white stripes, shirt a long coat that reached down to her knees, fingerless gloves and a crocheted beanie with a small pom pom on the end of it. The beanie and gloves had been made by her younger sister that christmas and although she wasn't exactly fond of the colours she'd wear them, poking through the dusty shop while pulling off the beanie and gloves to stuff them in her coat pocket. About to give up hope that anything in this shop would be of use to her an antique looking lamp hidden behind a large rather fugly painting of a pug, picking it up and wiping the dust off of it curiously, Lyra couldn't help but notice the silver lid. There was something about it that didn't fit in, she could feel something while holding it, shaking it experimentally and not hearing anything inside, the brunette decided that she'd buy it and see what if any secrets it held. Maybe she was loosing it, and it was just a normal lamp, either way she bought it for a fairly low price considering the silver.

Getting home just after dark, she hung her coat on the coat rack and left her gloves and beanie in its pockets, setting her keys, bag and lamp on the table she fluffed around making something for dinner and devouring it before finally getting around to investigating the lamp with her magic. That attempt left her recoiling as a metallic taste filled her mouth, evidently whatever magic was in the lamp was designed to keep it safe from other magics like her own, hoping she wasn't about to do anything she'd regret later Lyra removed the lid of the lamp and stepped backwards quickly opting not to summon any of her knives to defend herself. That'd be a good way to get herself in hot water, no it was better to come across as relatively harmless, tucking her just-below-the-jaw hair back behind her ears the plain looking girl waited.

He wasn't sure if he wanted to be thankful that he no longer belonged to the dragon any more or not, in all reality. He and Lats hadn't liked the testing on themselves very much, but Damien had found the whole process quite interesting. He'd always been interested in learning and discovering new things through research, his workrooms in the old castle basement had been full of books and his reasearch into shadow masters. Grateful at least that the silver that had started growing through his skin had been removed, he still wasn't a fan of the decision to leave the original pieces under his skin. He hadn't complained too much, more than used to the slow burning sensation and how to ignore it. Still, belonging to the dragon had been a nice breath of fresh air after being locked in the lamp for a couple of hundred years, and he hadn't really been taken advantage of like other masters had done. He'd been allowed to wander the crater freely by the end of it all, enjoying the relative freedom. But now he was stuck in the damn lamp again, and he could guess that he'd been palmed off to somewhere else now that the dragon had gotten bored with him and the testing.

Sighing, he flopped down on his couch, pleased that the inside of his lamp was bigger than the outside. Over the many years that he'd been imprisoned, he'd accumulated quite a collection of house items, furnishing the inside of the lamp to suit his tastes and make the area comfortable to live in. Unfortunately unable to put anything electrical in his lamp, he'd found other ways to store and make his food. It had still been a long time since he'd been able to have gingercake, and he was developing quite the craving for it now. Disrupted from his thoughts as he felt his lamp being moved and then shaken, he picked himself up off the floor with a soft grumble. Perhaps he'd be let out soon. He'd learned that his lamp being shaken usually meant someone was interested in it after all. Patiently waiting and sprawling over his couch again, the old shadow master stroked his coyote as he did, sending occassional curious glances up at the silver roof that showed where the lid of his lamp was. Finally, eventually, the lid was removed and he emerged in a cloud of smoky shadows, eyeing his new master, or mistress it seemed. It was easy enough to tell that she was a creature, so he crossed his arms as he studied her, debating on when he'd have to tell her his rules. Likely in the next few minutes, he was bound to tell them after all. Sienna had made sure of that, and he was still thoroughly sour towards his old mentor for trapping him for something she hadn't allowed him to explain.

Thick black smoke boiled out of the hole at the top of the lamp soon clearing to reveal a mildly attractive man standing on the ground next to the table eyeballing her. Studying him curiously Lyra noticed the coyote and half wondered if the creature was perhaps a familiar of some kind, while she knew plenty about witches and warlocks it she had little knowledge of other species. Tucking her hair back behind her ears, the young warlock offered a half smile in greeting. it never hurt to be polite, especially when you had no idea what you were dealing with, ignoring the part of her mind that drew up the song genie in a bottle by Christina Aguilera as that definitely did not help the situation, it took a fair amount of self will to not collapse into giggles. perching on the arm of the couch and tucking her hair back behind her ears Lyra spoke finally "Come with a name or am i going to have to go with Mr Two for one deal" considering she'd only paid for just the lamp not the surprise that had been lurking within it. She couldn't see a collar or wings so he should be safe enough to give her name although she couldn't remember the last time she'd helped out a creature that'd called her by her name. merely an infant in terms of age when it came to immortals which was a little degrading but she wasn't the type to let it get her down. this wasn't the first time she'd ended up with a stray, and someone trapped in a plain old fashioned lamp was definitely was one, although that also was kept quiet. undoubtedly she did have a million questions for him, however she was fairly confident that it was rather rude to assault him with those questions until they weren't total strangers. Who wanted to answer nosy questions belonging to someone who was younger than them and a stranger? nobody.

Well, she seemed polite, which was nice. Taking in his surroundings briefly, the old shadow master focused his dark eyes on her, working out what she was. For the moment keeping his shadows still inside his lamp, he gave a soft sigh, resigned to telling her what she was asking for. “Damien,” he responded, fiddling again absently with his shackles. He’d have to tell her his rules now, best to get it over and done with. With another sigh, he spoke again. He did despise the rules he was bound under. “You'll want to know my rules.” For now deciding not to explain what he was precisely, he merely gave her his rules, still so very bitter towards his old mentor for what she’d done to him. Going quiet now that he didn’t have to say anything, he waited for the other creature to speak, wondering about her. She seemed fairly young, but then again, everyone was young compared to him at this point. It wasn’t something that he particularly took notice of any more. Wishing that he could be rid of the silver binding him, he sat on the table his lamp was on, wanting nothing more than to be able to be with his sister again. It was just unfortunate that it was never going to happen, even though he was well aware of the condition Sienna had given him. Pushing that out of his mind for now, he focused his gaze back on the girl, his coyote sitting at his feet patiently.

Listening as the strange man explained his rules, her attention was drawn to the silver shackles that he'd mentioned could be loosened, deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt as she had one of her hunches that he wasn't all around a bad person. Stepping forwards she offered a quick smile "Hand please" once Damien obeyed she loosened the silver from that hand's wrist and did that to the other as well before backing off. "Hungry? I've got some baking in the pantry that could do with some eating" her natural friendliness curling up her lips into a warm smile, might as well make him feel at home since it seemed he'd be staying with her for a while. From his rules she guessed that he'd been cursed by someone long ago, that wasn't something she could fix, but she could provide a home and good food at least "Theres a spare bedroom you can claim if you feel the need too" she didn't know him enough to tell him off for sitting on the table, although her smile grew a little cheeky without her noticing it"I'd tell you to get your hiney off the table but im just as guilty for doing that" gesturing for him to follow, Lyra turned about and headed into the kitchen rummaging around until she found what tin she'd put the gingerbread in, it was the left over baking from christmas and so it was all christmas themed and iced. Offering him the tin the girl added "Help yourself" everything about her was pretty genuine and kind, she wasn't one to judge others for things that had happened and things that they had done.

He hadn’t been expecting the shackles to be loosened, but it was such a relief that they had been. They’d been quite tight for the last few hundred years, and it felt good to have less pain to keep locked away. Still, he wasn’t sure entirely what was wanted from him, so for now he was just going to take the safe bet of sticking to his lamp. At least if he was in it, it couldn’t be taken from him like the past few masters had done to him. Smelling the gingerbread, he followed her into the kitchen and took a good few pieces. “Thank you.” Taking his prize, he vanished back into his lamp in a cloud of his shadows, bringing them all with him and happily stashing some of the gingerbread away for alter while still having some to share with the shadows. This girl seemed very interesting, and he wanted to know more about what she was and what she was going to do with him. Munching on a piece of gingerbread very contentedly, he browsed the small bookshelves he’d managed to get into his lamp, searching for what information he had on warlocks. She felt like one, and it wasn’t often that he came across a creature that he hadn’t met before. He managed to find the book thankfully, and he settled back down on his couch to read it, keeping absent attention on what his lamp was doing and if he’d be called out of it again.

At the words of thanks, Lyra gave him a smile "You're welcome" watching him leave the young warlock didn't make any move to stop him from returning to his lamp, not all together that worried about what was going on. Soon heading to bed herself, Lyra was up early and baking, having picked up on the way he'd been more interested in the sugary gingerbread than normal food encouraged her to bake some other sweet treats for her guest. Damien had appeared pretty shut down and in her experience that often meant malnutrition and cruelty in the creatures past. However she knew better than to bring it up, instead she'd do her best to help him without really seeming like she was, with her arms covered in flour she rolled out the dough for the cinnamon scrolls. The half empty pack of gingernuts in her pantry had been what had given her the muse to make gingerbread the day before, except gingerbread where she didnt' have to dunk the biscuits in to make them soft enough to eat. In time she'd find out the mans preferences, but for now she was content to go along with things, she'd been able to sense the good in him, and that alone was enough to welcome him into her home. She'd give him small chores to do like helping bring groceries home and other things like that, spreading the dough out and smearing melted butter all over it, Lyra hummed to herself using her telekinesis to bring the things she needed over without really even thinking about it. There was a small bowl of cinnamon mixed with brown sugar next to where she was working, it'd be added to the dough in a few mere moments.

It didn’t take long for shadows to leak out of the lamp, keeping themselves well hidden. They all knew what their shadow master was like, and it wasn’t worth his annoyance if they got seen. Only young, these shadows slipped into the kitchen during the night to exploring and then went around the rest of the house. The older shadows kept a note of what Damien would want them to, seeing the various exits of the house and where everything was so that he was aware of it all. Their recon done, the older shadows returned to the lamp and settled down to share what they’d learned, while the youngest ones continued to explore. Soon drawn into the kitchen by the smell of sugar, they managed to steal some to share amongst themselves and were soon retreating back to the lamp and settling down inside it. One tiny shadow stayed behind to explore more, and peeped over the edge of the bench where the stranger was working, highly curious about everything in its new world.

Noticing what the little black things were doing, Lyra just smiled to herself and pretended not to notice, when there was only one left the brown sugar 'accidentally' was spilled over going everywhere. Very curious as to what the little things that collected sugar were this was an innocent way of finding out a little more, ignoring the occasional curse word from the african grey parrot in its cage that always remained open. Cleaning up the mess and leaving some out for the strange sugar eater, the scones were soon in the oven and cooking, mean while Lyra leaned back against the bench humming to herself and absently making things around the room move.

Sorely tempted by the sugar, the tiny baby shadow barely waited until the girl’s back was turned before darting over to all the spillage. It instinctively knew that anything spilled was fair game for the shadows and so it didn’t take much time for all the brown sugar to be hoovered up. Turned into a highly energetic and bouncing shadow, the tiny thing forgot about hiding and began exploring the kitchen nosily, managing to clumsily avoid the weird things that were moving around the kitchen as well. It was chirping softly to itself, letting out a squeak when it discovered the sink and the residual water left in it. The shadow jumped in with a tiny splash and giggling and squeaked to itself as it played, forgetting completely about hiding and not being seen.

Not glancing back over her shoulder at the sounds of some thing small chowing down on the molasses coated sugar, the reaction to so much sugar was in equal measure adorable and amusing. It seemed to forget completely about being sneaky and did the equivalent of a drunk irishman stumbling home from the pub singing completely out of tune about a rattlin' bog. Unable to help the soft aww when it discovered the sink and began to play in the water, not minding the mess the cheeky little thing was making Lyra was content to just observe. She was concerned about scaring it when all she wanted to do was just learn and understand, the parrot continued to talk to itself repeating several times that it was a good pretty pretty boy. Wondering if it'd like a little more water she lifted a finger and ever so gently the tap turned on adding a little more water before turning off, it'd probably be best if she pretended she hadn't noticed it, then it could get more used to her. Thats what she usually did with some of the foster animals she got that were more skittish.

Freezing when more water appeared, it didn’t take long for the little thing to continue splashing about happily in the increased level. It had no regard for the mess it was making, and continued quite happily with its play, chirping softly to itself and discovering how to blow bubbles under the water. Aware that one of his shadows was missing, Damien wasted little time in turning up in search of it, casting a somewhat careful glance at the warlock who held him before aiming a stern gaze at the baby shadow. “Come.” He took no notice of the disappointed squeak, merely waiting until the baby trailed over to him and hid in his pocket. It was still too early in the piece to know what would be done to his young shadows, and for some reason this one had decided to form itself in response to the warlock. Tempted to investigate that, he for now said nothing, intending on vanishing back into his lamp with the gingerbread prize that his other shadows had found.

It'd been three weeks or so since she'd last seen the little black thing, having just made some new darts and re hanging her dart board just so in its usual spot. She'd stayed the same around Damien friendly and not asking much of him, it was easier since she had magic to do it all herself anyway especially when it came to washing dishes. Often using parts of her parrots shed feathers to arm the darts, Lyra carefully eyed the bullseye on the wall before throwing the dart and beaming with delight when it hit a good spot on the board. Her parrot sat on her shoulder whistling away to itself and occasionally asking for attention, the thirty year old bird was a close friend of hers and had been her companion for most of its life after she'd rescued it from a bad petstore. Able to throw a few more darts before her ear started to get nibbled on, Lyra just sighed and headed for the kitchen "Greedy bird" Hans just chattered away pretty boy pretty boy

Finally allowed out of the lamp, the baby was being much more careful this time. Hiding in the shadows, it watched with wide eyes at the girl throwing very interesting looking darts. Very tempted to go investigate, it squeaked uncertainly to itself very quietly, knowing that Damien would get grumpy again if it was spotted. Happily after a while she went away and the baby scooted over to the board, instinctively blending in with it while it inspected the darts. There were pretty feathers on them and it batted at them, soon stealing one and absorbing it safely to play with later. Squeaking softly when it saw Lyra returning, it shrunk away into the shadow that the board was casting and continued to watch, very much more careful this time to not be seen.

Getting some fruit out and cutting it up she set it down in a bowl that was attached to one of the parrots perches, the bird stepped off her and onto the wooden perch to eat. Returning to her game and finding one of the darts missing, Lyra frowned and poked about looking for it, when she was unable to find it she reluctantly gave up on that and her game. The house was quiet it always was when the parrot was eating, wandering outside and smiling briefly up at the warm sun, Lyra wandered over to where the hammock was and sat down swinging back and forth on it. Things were the same day after day, she stayed there watching the clouds until it was time for work, heading inside and after having a shower she headed off to work where she spent a good amount of time stocking shelves. Appearing to most to be a loner by nature she kept away from other staff members and out of conversations, happy to point a customer in the right way however she had marked patience for some of the more forward men. thankfully with her plain appearance she was mostly ignored but there always were one or two, the one that decided to bother her tonight was a repeat offender. She didn't break the rules of secrecy she'd grown up with instead she moved to stock shelves right infront of a security camera, getting a fouler and fouler mood, finally the shift was over and she headed home. Slamming the door behind her uncharacteristically, ithe first thing she did was storm into the kitchen and begin getting out ingredients, spending a good couple of hours making a dolls house out of gingerbread and ginger cake, decorated and iced to perfection. Messy and ending up conked out on the couch she didn't wake at her usual sensible time the next morning, the kitchen half way through being cleaned.

Peeping out from its hiding place, the shadow watched curiously as the warlock pottered about her house then left for what seemed like forever. The baby spent the time inspecting the dart that it’d stolen curiously and experimented with shaping its tentacles to look like the dart while it giggled softly to itself. Jumping in fright when the door slammed, the dart dropped to the floor and it fled to hide in a shadow just in case, peeping to itself. Thankfully nothing happened and it peeked out when the house began to smell yummy, the smell eventually drawing the shadow’s master out of his lamp. Pleased that Lyra was asleep and so he didn’t have to interact, Damien studied the gingerbread house quietly and eventually only took a few choice pieces of ginger cake that wouldn’t undermine the foundations or looks before vanishing back into his lamp. He’d thank her later, once she was in a less foul mood.

Sleeping in she stirred when the sound of her african grey parrot hans started screeching, batting her thick brown hair out of her face, getting up and feeding the hungry thing managing to avoid being bitten because it was past his breakfast time so he was more than a little cranky. Wandering into the bathroom to shower and brush her hair back into a loose bun to keep it out of her face, honestly she needed another haircut but she couldn't do that until next week so it'd just have to wait. After that she made herself some breakfast and sat at the table eating it, Lyra had noticed that the gingery creation she'd made the night before had had some of it eaten. Good, at least he likes baking I can work with that All she wanted to do was to help the strange man, she didn't particularly care that if she wanted she could use him, far more concerned with getting some weight onto him and not forcing him into doing anything. Making a mental note to talk to him about helping himself to the baking when she saw him next Lyra set about cleaning up the mess she'd made in the kitchen using a mix of magic and hard work, sometimes there was something rewarding about doing something instead of using her telekinesis. Humming to herself the parrot started 'singing' along with her, something that never failed to make her smile he was her best friend and his antics kept her company during the somewhat lonely days.

Having finished the gingercake and wanting more, for once Damien was out of his lamp while Lyra was awake and moving around. His soul shadow came with him, using the time to poke around the house and see what had changed, and his older shadows spread out silently to melt in with the shadows of the house without being seen. He’d been reading a fair bit since she’d become his owner, and had been poking through the books in the house as well as the well read ones in his lamp. As he’d suspected, she was a very young warlock, but age no longer meant anything to him, he no longer really counted the years. Moving over to the ginger creation, he took a few more pieces to eat while he watched her. She was strange, she hadn’t taken advantage of owning him, and that was making him more wary than relaxed. He didn’t know what to think about her, and he was helpless to try and defend himself from her if she decided to suddenly change her tune about how she was treating him. A soft squeak sounded in his ear from the baby and he sighed, letting it go and investigate. It had already been seen, so there was no point in trying to hide it from her any longer. Overjoyed, the baby bounced over to Lyra and clambered up onto the nearest surface to her to squeak a hello and wave a tiny tentacle at her in greeting.

The sigh alerted her to the fact that she and the parrot were no longer alone, turning in time to see him eating some of the gingerbread house she’d built and a little black thing making its way over to her, watching with smile as the little thing bounced over and climbed up the cabinets to sit on the bench squeaking and waving a small tentacle in greeting. “Hello again, No longer in trouble are we?” speaking gently to the shadow while studying it curiously still very interested in what on earth it was and how it worked. Knowing better than to ask too many questions and potentially making the shadow feel uncomfortable Lyra settled for a simple question “Do you have a name?” it wouldn’t be that nice to constantly refer to the thing as well… a thing, for all she knew it had a gender and a name as well as the intelligence she’d seen the previous time it’d made itself known. She kept herself from saying that it was good to see Damien around, quite wary of spooking him as well, but she had a good gut feeling about him and that was why she hadn’t kicked him out when he’d first appeared out of the lamp. About to say something else when she heard her parrot screeching out foul curse words from its favourite perch, Lyra could have face palmed at her birds bad behaviour perfectly aware of where it had learnt those words “And you wonder why I put you away when my family visits you potty mouth” When he wasn’t in his cage he had the entire ground floor to explore as long as he used the bird cage to bathroom in, which thankfully he did once he’d realized if he did he got a reward, she’d need to clip his wings again too actually having learnt how to do it herself so as to save a vet bill. With so many things going on in her mind it took an effort to refocus on the little shadow reminding herself to be polite.

Chirping cheerfully, the shadow scooted closer to Lyra to inspect her more, highly curious about the strange new person who had a kind voice. Damien was watching, leaning against the table while he ate his snack. “No name yet.” He wasn’t even sure what gender the shadow was going to choose, but it was going to be interesting, especially since he suspected it had formed in response to the warlock being in his life for the time being. He wasn’t particularly fond of those implications, but they could safely be ignored for the time being. Distracted by the parrot, he glanced over at the grey bird then ignored him as well. He’d begun to settle a little in this new place, especially since he hadn’t been ordered around as yet, but he also knew from experience that things could change so so easily. It was just simpler to stay wary and alert just in case. Shifting position slightly, he finished his snack and fed the crumbs to his other shadows, waiting to see what the warlock would do now. She was a curious one, and he wanted to learn more about her while he could in safety.

When the shadow bounced closer and squeaked that it didn’t have a name yet, Lyra offered a smile and a hand “Well we’ll have to find you one then, It wouldn’t feel right to go around addressing you as Little Shadow all of the time” what struck her the most about the small shadow was how perky it seemed, rather carefree which made her suspect that it was quite young. Older ones seemed to hang around Damien more and keep to themselves whilst this one was a free spirit, pleased when the damned bird finally shut up having apparently found something to keep him busy which was likely destruction she’d have to patch up later. Also intent on staying the same as possible as to help encourage the man that he didn’t have anything to worry about, with rules like his she could imagine that he’d been used and abused in the past, it explained why he’d been so aloof so far and keeping to himself hopefully in time he’d learn that this place would be safe for him and she had no intention of making him do anything except maybe the occasional chore. Remembering that someone had been going through the books on her shelves, looking up at Damien she offered him the same smile she’d sent his shadows way “I was thinking about heading to the second-hand bookstore today, you’re welcome to come with me if you want to get some new books, well-used books they’re not technically new but...” shutting herself up before she could ramble away, Lyra shrugged meaning very much that he didn’t have to come if he didn’t want to but he was more than welcome.

Inspecting the girl’s hand, the shadow clambered onto it, not quite having complete control over all its tentacles at this point in time. Twining one around Lyra’s thumb, the little thing sat in her hand and chirped again, deciding that it liked the warlock already. Considering the offer, Damien ate another piece of gingerbread that a shadow had brought him, watching his newest shadow almost warily. He did like his books, and he hadn’t been able to get new ones in such a long time. It was probably going to be worth whatever she’d make him do afterwards. He wasn’t so stupid to take everything at face value – not at the moment, anyway. It was just too early on in the piece for him to believe that nothing was going to happen to him, and that he wasn’t going to be used for something that she needed him for. “I’ll come.” Eyeing the shadow that squeaked and cuddled up closer to Lyra’s thumb, he left it there, wanting to know what else it was going to do now that it was bondly quite strongly with the very young creature.

Smiling to herself at how cute the shadow was, her fingers gently curled around the tentacles that wrapped about her fingers, looking back up when she heard Damien speak, Lyra nodded “Alright, Give me ten minutes then” heading away to put the bird away and collect some books to exchange that she’d been meaning to return for a while she let her hair out of the bun and waited at the door. Once Damien showed up she headed out, locking the door behind them, thankfully the walk to the bookshop wasn’t too far away, a mere fifteen minute walk that she quite enjoyed, her hand with the shadow in it was carefully resting in a pocket not wanting to draw attention to herself which was because of the upbringing she’d had. Her bag hung on the other shoulder carrying a wallet and the books she’d put in there before leaving home. Reaching the store that had its name neatly painted in flowing calligraphy, in the window were some books on display, opening the door sounded a gentle tinkling bell and the aroma of the bookstore enveloped her, inhaling sharply at the familiar smell of old books Lyra went over to the man behind the counter, he was hunched over, had white hair and a thick pair of circle spectacles perched on his nose reading an old book sitting on the glass counter top. Greeting him with a smile and her usual cheery greeting she took out the books and set them down for him, assuming that Damien would go around and help himself to the books, the old man looked up at the stranger in his shop and gave a knowing smile quite aware what Lyra was and knowing that he was a creature too. After watching the way Damien walked around the store he lifted a finger and beckoned to him, wanting to know more about him before deciding whether or not to share some of his creature books with him, despite the fact that the man seemed old upon closer inspection he seemed to glow with health and life as well as the air one had when they knew far too much for what was healthy. Meanwhile, Lyra was browsing the shelves with her hand out of her pocket knowing the bookstore was safe for the young shadow to explore.

He walked quietly with her, his coyote thankfully looking enough like a dog for the moment to be walking with them. He didn’t particularly want to be without her for now, since she’d been withheld from him for a good while when they’d belonged to the dragon. Aware that the little shadow was attaching itself to Lyra and equall as aware that it wasn’t going to want to leave her, Damien for now did nothing about it, letting the tiny thing stay with the warlock and chirp softly to itself while it took in everything around it. Finding the non fiction area of the bookstore, the old shadow master dove deep into the books, picking out ones that looked interesting and browsing through ones that he wasn’t sure about yet. After a while the movement of the old man caught his attention and he wandered over, curious enough about the books to let down his guard a little. However he wasn’t quite curious enough to say anything at the moment, although he could sense that the old man was a creature, he hadn’t quite pinned down what he was. He was a little out of practice of doing that, it had been a long time since meeting new and different creatures.
