In a world where everything is black and white, color is known to take hold when one meets their soulmate. Still this does not make the hunt for the 'one' any easier, the key is they eyes they are known to be the first hint of the truth.

Tia, Ivy and Sarah were collared by a faerie infamous for poorly treating his pets, while Tia and Sae submitted Ivy refused, in the end when the faerie was punished for another crime the three of them were sent to the marketplace where pets are kept and sold. With no one else to trust but each other the three remained quite close to each other, Ivy protecting Tia and Sae from being picked on by other pets and after Ivy protested by gravely misbehaving the Faerie in charge of the pets agreed to keep them together which resulted in Ivy behaving herself.

The two pets had come in to the marketplace holdings earlier that week, and at first they’d been separated as was their usual protocol. The girls had been in bad shape, same as the rest of the pets the now imprisoned faerie had kept. However just this morning a report had come through to Sita that there was a bit of a rebellion of sorts happening that involved the pair. Well aware of what the trade master would say and do if his strict regulations weren’t kept, the faerie made his way over to where the pair had been kept while they were being assessed for resale. They still weren’t at a weight that Niko was comfortable selling them at, so for now they were staying in the warehouse until then.

Ivy was skinny and scowling, the food they’d put on a plate for her had been tossed at the door, she’d picked up a few shards of the porcelain and hidden them fully intending to stab someone with it. All she cared about was finding Tia and making sure that she was alright, the amount of abuse she’d endured under the hands of their previous faerie had taught her that all faeries were bad and not to be trusted. Tia was such a delicate little thing that ivy had bonded with and decided to protect and look after, it’d been reluctant at first but by the time they’d been rescued Ivy had become very protective of her friend. Part of ti was likely that she’d never really had such a good friend in her life before, there was a tight bangle around one wrist that prevented her from shifting and properly attacking various faeries. Biding her time and waiting until a Faerie came in she attempted and very nearly managed to plunge the sharp porcelain into the faerie all the while growling “Where is Tia? What are you sick fucks trying to do to her!” all she wanted was to be back with her so that she could protect her from these freaks that in all honesty needed to be exterminated.

Sita had sent a note about two of the confiscated pets, so the trade master had turned up to the warehouse in order to work out what the problem was with the pair. Another piece of news was waiting for him as well, the last unaccounted for pet had been found hidden away at the faerie’s mansion, and was being brought in to be assessed to see if she’d be right to resell as well. He wasn’t entirely optimistic about most of the pets, they’d all been badly mistreated, and sometimes it was just kinder to put them out of their misery instead of forcing them to go to another faerie. Listening to the report as he headed for where they were keeping the girl, he filed that away to deal with once he’d dealt with whatever was going on here. Niko pushed open the door and stepped into the room to be greeted by a rather furious pet. He somehow managed to avoid being stabbed and grabbed her wrists, holding her in front of him while he studied her. “I see what you mean. Did she come with a name?” Having stayed in the doorway, Sita consulted his notes. “Nelly, but we’ve found she doesn’t respond to that at all.” That made Niko hum softly, and he kept studying the girl, taking note of the tight collar and tight bangle. “And this Tia?” The answer was something he’d somewhat expected, and he mused over his choices for a moment. “Keep them together.” He didn’t have the time to deal with a rebellious pet that threatened to kill his workers simply because she’d been separated from another pet. Sometimes it was just easier to bend his rules and keep them happy. With that dealt with, he took the piece of porcelain off her, the rest of the bowl having been retrieved while he’d been holding her. “Where have you put the last one found? She’ll need to be seen to.”

Furious when he grabbed her she increased her attempts to stab him ignoring the fact that he was stronger than she was, after a few moments she decided that he wasn’t worth it so she started to pull trying to get out of his grip so she could go after the other faerie. Again she couldn’t although she hissed when the note holding faerie mentioned the name Nelly, how she fucking hated that name. It was only when they mentioned the last one that the girl went from being completely feral to suddenly intensely focused on the black faerie that held her wrists. “Sae?” the missing girl from her small pack that she protected as best as she could, she hadn’t seen her in a while and had been very concerned about her well being considering she’d been their masters favourite even over red headed Tia.

Well now that was highly interesting and Niko switched his attention to the girl in his hands, studying her just as intently as she was studying him. Despite the fact that he didn’t look as though he was paying attention to what the other faerie was saying, he was undoubtedly listening, quite curious to know what the information would mean to the feisty girl in front of him. “She’s in one of the holding rooms. She’s…. not in good shape I’m afraid.” The trade master gave a slight nod, still watching the pet that he was holding still. “Alright, I’ll see to her now. Bring that other pet in here, they can room together for the time being.” It would save some trouble, he hoped.

If she had had shoes on she’d be busy kicking the shit out of the man's shins, alas she was barefoot, glaring at the man visibly showing distress at the condition of the unnamed pet she was sure was her Sae, her packmate, her friend. “What did he do to her!” snarling she wished for the billionth time that she could remove the copper that prevented her from shifting and go tear out some throats. Cruelty had changed her drastically from who she’d been when she’d been caught, it was the wolf that ruled her mind most of the time every beating she’d endured to protect her two friends every time she shifted it grew stronger and who she had been was squashed uncomfortably into a small box, locked in the back of her being. “I’ll kill him for hurting here” she twisted her arms around in an attempt to force him to let go, she continued to hold eye contact with the man holding her refusing to back down or look away, that was to be submissive and she was not going to submit to anyone. Her dreams were shattered, she no longer knew how many years she’d been gone, no longer remembered her parent's faces or voices, it just grew fuzzier and fuzzier, forgetting more and more, filthy and in clothes that barely passed for clothes and were more akin to rags, her hair was unkempt and long despite her doing her best with her fingers it looked fairly tangled too. “Let me go!” demanding that he release her she tugged again. Glowering up at him her gaze widened a little before she looked away still continuing to try and free herself, did she see what she thought she'd seen? No. No. no her soul mate wasn't some scumbag untrustworthy Faerie she didn't want a partner her role was protecting her little pack so she forcefully shoved it all into a box to be dealt with later.

The other trade faerie nodded and hurried away to fetch the redhead, leaving Niko still holding firmly onto the girl’s wrists. It was highly interesting how she was reacting at the moment, but he shelved that more focused on what she was saying and trying to do. “I wouldn’t know, I haven’t seen her yet.” Finally letting go of her wrists he stepped back towards the door, only moving aside when the other faerie came back with the other pet. Satisfied that the pair would be fine together, he moved away to see the new case, very well aware of what condition she might be in considering the rest of the cruel faerie’s pets.

Relieved when she was finally let go she inspected her wrists briefly unsure of herself now, scowling and refusing to look up until she recognized Tias footsteps, brightening up she opened her arms and the red headed girl threw herself into them. Hugging her packmate tightly she looked up at the dark skinned man glowering once again making it quite clear without saying a word that she’d do everything in her power to keep the other girl safe and a dark desire to find the third member of the only family she had. Once they were gone she checked Tia over and made sure that she had something to eat, sitting down on the bed provided with the shy quiet girl curled up next to her, Ellie waited to see what the world would throw at her next having already made up her mind that she’d die to protect the two other girls. The fact that she’d seen colour was just a complication that didn’t change anything, faeries were manipulative and couldn’t be trusted, all they wanted was their own way and pleasure particularly around the time of the full moon. She’d punished herself every night and she did that night too, remaining awake and going over how she’d been caught, how stupid she’d been, and hating herself all the more when a snarky voice pulled her up saying she was meant to be caught so that she could protect the other two, it was Gods will and when he saw fit she would die and wait in his kingdom for her parents if they weren’t there already. Her faith had intertwined with her love for her two sisters and was what had helped her get this far, it was what had taught her that her sisters were her purpose.

Having looked over the last pet recovered from the cruelty case, Niko assigned someone to make sure the three girls were taken care of, which included actual clothes and some proper meal. All the pets seized were underweight, and he honestly wasn’t sure how many of them were going to survive going to new faeries unfortunately. Confirming that the blonde girl was indeed the one that Nelly had mentioned, Niko mulled over the three of them for a few days before making the decision to keep them all together. Tia and Nelly had improved markedly since being put in together, and he wanted to make sure that those three at least kept improving in some way. Sending one of the faeries to go fetch Sae, the trade master got back to his work figuring out what to do with them.
Having had to endure a fair bit more than her two sisters, Sarah had ended up quite shut down over it all. She was thankful that she’d finally been found, but it didn’t help that she had no idea where Ellie and Tia were, and she wanted so badly for them to be safe and sound. She hadn’t made a sound since being placed in her room, and barely looked up when she heard the door opening, just mutely following the faerie to where they were going to take her next. She didn’t have any more fight left, that had long been beaten out of her. Ellie was the one who fought for them, as much as Sarah didn’t like her being hurt either. Discovering that she was just being put in another room, she stood there as the door was closed behind her, trying to work out what she was seeing.

In quiet moments she’d ruminated over things always shoving them back in their boxes whenever something happened be it her sister waking or food being put in. Aware that Tia was ravenous she’d held back on her own eating so she could have more to eat, sitting quietly brushing her fingers through her little sisters beautiful red hair a soft growl escaped the wild one when the door opened. She had the food times memorized, it was still two hours before any food was due to be delivered however when she recognized the girl let into the room “Sae!” and once the door was closed “Sarah” grabbing Tia before her sister could throw herself towards the new comer, Ivy had her stay put while she herself got up and cautiously walked over to her making sure not to crowd her. “you’re with us again” offering a hand toward the broken blonde waiting for Sae to realize where she was and to recognize them. Admittedly Ivy didn’t really understand why they were being reunited, if it was to hurt them more and split them up again or if they were being kept together until they were put down like animals. Of course perhaps she was more animal herself these days, the anger, the rage that kept her going was animalistic in nature, she didn’t know if she was too far gone or not, there was a craving to shift and escape with them leading them to a paradise far away from here. It was possible they would be saved if she could make at least that happen and they were safe she’d let her own light flicker out, it was only because of them that she was here, that she had fought so hard, without them what was she? Empty.

It took a few moments for her sister’s voice to register properly and when it did Sarah just threw her arms around her, burying her face in Ivy’s shoulder. She was so sore still, and it had been so long since they’d been together she was too scared to let go again in case they were taken away again. Eventually registering that Tia was there too, Sarah moved enough to include her in the hug as well, so glad that for now at least they were back together, even if it wasn’t going to be for very long. “You’re safe.” Her voice was hurting, the faerie had tried to escape his punishment and taken her with him when he’d fled. He’d found highly secluded spots to continue what he enjoyed doing to do despite her cries and struggles, but now she was just thankful that they didn’t belong to him any more, even though faeries were all just manipulators, and they would soon go to someone else who might be just as bad.

Hugging her sister tightly, Ellie buried her nose into Sarah’s hair closing her eyes, adding Tia to the hug circle she was unable to say anything more overcome with emotion, her two sisters were safe and with her. Making a promise to herself that she would not allow anyone to separate them, Ellie went about settling them both down again going over Sarah carefully making sure that the blonde was as well tended to as possible. Still refusing to eat most of her portions more interested in getting the other two to a decent weight, the she-wolf in human skin hadn’t put on much weight over the couple of weeks she was stuck in that room with her sisters, any food she did eat was burned off by her pacing around the room wearing a track into the floor unsettled at being stuck in a room that felt like a cage. Distracted from her pacing only when food was delivered, her sisters wanted her, or she was so exhausted that she needed to sleep. It was during one of her times of snuggling with her two sisters when a knock upon the door sounded after some footsteps, tensing up as the door opened, it wasn’t food time yet who was it and what did they want.

The three girls had been last on Niko’s list of the pets, giving them some time to settle in together again and for him to work out the rest of the pets. With them all finally dealt with, it was time to handle them, so he headed for their room, knocking on the door and then opening it to study them for a brief moment before speaking. “Come with me.” It was clear to him that they weren’t coping well being here, and he did want to give them a chance at recovery at the very least. Banking on the fact that the two quieter ones would obey, and that they wouldn’t want to be separated again, he was expecting all three to come. Sarah had yet to speak much, even to her sisters, but she still knew better than to disobey a faerie, especially a male one. Getting to her feet from where she was sitting, she took hold of Tia’s hand and flicked a look at Ivy, hoping that she’d stay with them.

Wary of the unknown Ivy was the last one to get up, how could she protect them if she let them go without her? Standing carefully, she moved to lead the way keeping her two sisters behind her. Holding onto Sarah’s hand tightly, Tia didn’t anything just obeyed the silent body language from the leader of their small group of three, their small family. Ellie followed the black man without word, every part of her alert and wary for any tricks, they wound up being lead to a carriage, letting the other two clamber in first the she wolf made sure that Sarah was comfortably in the middle between herself and Tia. Avoiding looking straight at the mans face, part of her terrified of the colour that she had seen there, she instead leaned to watch the world through the window wishing that all three of them could be free of the shackles that chained them down. A few hours of intense thought and avoiding eye contact later, the carriage stopped and Ellie was the first one out surveying the new place, she beckoned the other two deciding it was better than the place they’d been trapped in for god knows how long.

Tethering the cern temporarily, Niko brushed a hand down the animal’s neck before flicking a glance at the three girls and leading them inside. “Come inside.” He’d had a couple of rooms prepared for the three already, and so he took them there, giving them a brief explanation of where other things were in the comfortable house on the way. “Figure out your sleeping arrangements as you want. The rooms have an adjoining door you can leave open if you need as well.” Leaving them to get settled as much as they could for now, Niko returned to his cern to take care of him, giving the gentle creature a brush after unhitching him and turned him out into the small field that suited the lonesome cern. Niko had tried keeping him with a small herd but he’d proven to be a loner and rather unhappy so the faerie hadn’t pushed it.
