Not in much of a rush, he’d just stood there waiting for her to be finished “I don’t really do deadlines, it makes things unnecessarily stressful which isn’t fun, although I challenge myself to do it as soon as possible usually” with his hands in his pockets he was absently rocking back and forth on his feet as if he had all the time in the world. As of right now he had no qualms about what he was doing, sure she was fun but a job was a job. “Ready then?” escorting her to his truck he opened the door for her which was uncharacteristic of him. Getting in the drivers side he started the drive humming away to the song that was playing on the radio. Eventually they reached the sprawling manor house that was extravagant and spread out over quite a large area of land, clearly the man who owned this land had too much money and no taste. In his opinion, the rich never had good taste, once she was out of the truck he wrapped her wrists with the vine that could bind her and escorted her inside to the man in question, once he was paid he left, leaving her to be locked away in a rather comfortable room that had various glyphs that glowed.

There were no windows in her room, just the door making it hard to determine what the time was and whether it was day or night, food was left for her and after a while she was escorted to another room that had a viewing window. This room was rather grand and made the other room look simple by comparison, after that the owner of the mansion held a party to show off his new acquisition, and proudly crowed that she was a goddess and went into a lot of detail about what she was exactly. After a while when there was no one around there was a quiet noise at her door, and the sound of a lock being fiddled with before the door swung open, to reveal a familiar face, looking thoroughly bored as if he’d expected more of a challenge, James stood to the side giving her the choice of whether or not she was going to leave that room

The response got a smirk out of him, “Some idiot paid me to get you out of here, I’m always up for a challenge, although this place has been less of one than I expected. Are we leaving or have you decided captivity is easier” he had no intention of telling her nor anyone else that he’d had second thoughts and that the idiot was himself. She was just entertaining and it wouldn’t be fun back home without her there, nobody needed to know that apart from himself. So he shrugged and stepped away it was up to her if she’d leave or not, with him or not “I’m supposed to deliver you to Mexico city” starting to head back out the way he came he paused, realizing some guards on their rounds were coming that way. He turned back deciding that they’d have to get out another way if she was coming with him at all that was.

He wasn’t entirely sure that she wasn’t going to do something to him for capturing her and delivering her into captivity which had been why he hadn’t offered to remove the vine straight away. Glancing back at her he nodded and turned properly to her cutting the vine with a sharp blade “Theres a good window not far from here that will suit to escape out of” it was a bit of a drop for him but he’d live. Leading the way to the window, avoiding the guards as best as he could although there was one that he had to knock out. Slipping out of the window and managing to clamber down he landed a little haphazardly in the bush. Keeping his opinions of the thorny bush to himself he got up out of the bush and once Mia had joined him headed to where he’d parked his ute hidden out of the way so as not to draw attention to himself.

Not stopping her when she shifted he watched as she rapidly shrank until she could fit in his pocket, hearing her words sound in his head once they were outside he snorted “Getting out is nearly always easier than getting in, that place is designed to keep people out as the various cages he has are well spelled so the creatures can’t escape. So it was a fun challenge getting in, a bore getting out” reaching into his pocket he deposited her in the passenger seat as he clambered into his ute. Turning it on he headed back towards Mexico, taking some of the back routes, quite aware that the man would find out Mia was gone and would potentially get suspicious that it was him, he did have quite the reputation after all, thankfully they made it back without much trouble. However when they returned to her place there was someone waiting for them, recognizing the man instantly, James’s gaze hardened a brief moment before he slipped back into his usual laid back attitude and got out to wander over to him “Hey Khan, what’re you going out here in the boonies, not to your taste obviously?” he was given a cold glare “I’m here to kill whoever stole the goddess” Khan had zero interest in trying to capture her, he was a killer plain and simple. Very aware that meant that Khan was here to kill him, James grinned deciding to take the chance to be what he loved being more than almost anything else, an annoying little shit.
