Lana's grown bored of Jory, and so cast him away. With the admittedly slow busker just travelling around making music, he's unaware that there's another interested in him, for different reasons to the demon. What trouble will he get himself into this time?

Gripping the tie tightly, a soft growl left him as they both tugged. Not intending to let go, he shook the tie fiercely, backing up to try and tug it out of her hands. Barking when it ripped, he shook the tie for a moment before noticing her command. Bounding over, he nuzzled into her hand, wagging his tail at her laugh. He liked her laugh, and pushed his head closer to her. Taking advantage of her sitting on the floor, he climbed into her lap to be even closer to her, curling up with a happy sigh. There are more ties, he murmured, yawning.

Not pushing him out of her lap instead she stroked him quietly, the goofy dog got a gentle smile for a few moments before she sighed and rubbed his ears. "There are" she agreed but made no effort to get up and find another, the easy silence between them was peaceful, not really paying attention to the fact that she was humming an absent tune to herself. A part of herself was starting to quietly put words to the notes, a rarity as most of her songs were created without lyrics. eventually hungry she nudged him out of her lap "Shift and play, I'm going to find something to eat" she'd likely have to produce something for him as well seeing as he was always hungry. Getting up she wandered towards the kitchen, discovering that some greedy man had cleaned out the fridge she rolled her eyes and flicked her fingers, shadows soon returned with food which to her general amusement was chicken nuggets that they'd apparently nicked from McDonalds. Wandering back into the living room and sitting on the couch she shoved one unceremoniously into Jorys mouth as he was abotu to take a breath to sing

Nuzzling into her lap, the dog began to drift off a little, content to listen to her humming. His tail was wagging slightly, almost in time to the music. Grumbling when he was pushed out of her lap, he padded into the bedroom to scout out his clothes, shifting once he had. Hungry, he wandered out again barefoot, settling sprawled on the floor to lean on the couch. Tuning the guitar while he waiting, he half wondered if there was any food left after the few days of them being alone. She had mentioned that she wasn’t intending to go shopping until she had to, he remembered. Happy with his instrument, he picked a song and was about to do what he was told when he discovered a nugget being shoved into his mouth. Uncomplaining his ate it and glanced up at his mistress with a grin, moving to lean against her. “Any more for me?” he asked hopefully, strumming absently.

Amusement and surprisingly merriment flashed into the females pale blue eyes as he hopefully asked for more, Dani ate a couple before shoving another few in his mouth cheekily seeing how many she could fit into his mouth. All too soon they were gone, and she was left sitting there listening to his music, it was strange how suddenly she wanted this weekend to last forever, the peacefulness of their time together was so pleasant and she found herself wanting more time like this despite herself. She should be pushing him away, reminding him he was just a pet to her, and yet she knew deep inside her that he was more than a pet, and although she couldn't bring herself to tell him that for fear something would happen that some how Oliver would hear and use him against her kept her quiet. So instead she brought herself back to the present and watched him, starting to absently comb her fingers through his thick hair, her blue eyes focused on him absently completely unaware of the thoughts and feelings that flickered through their depths that revealed she cared for him and was enjoying this time together as much as he was

Grinning at her antics, he rested his head on her knee when the nuggets were gone, the amusement coming across in the cheeky tune that his fingers were playing. He enjoyed times like these, when she didn’t seem to care that he was just a pet to her. Nestling into her hand as she combed through his hair, he closed his eyes, allowing the very tentative feelings about her to float around a bit more. His fingers moved of their own accord, eventually picking out the song she’d made the day before, and he absently hummed the lyrical tune that he’d began to work out. He wanted to stay with her always, more than just so he wouldn’t get hurt, and because he knew she owned him. It was because he wanted to now, even if he wasn’t hers already. Keeping quiet about the things floating through his head, he instead continued to play for her, wanting the moment to last. It wouldn’t be long before David was back, after all, and then his Dani would be gone, replaced by the façade that she had to present to the irritating idiot.

A grin was teased out of her at the cheeky tune he made, she ignored the desire to move so she could kiss and snuggle into the simpleton. Listening to the music quietly, she started to hum along with him, their two voices sounding rather pleasant, her gaze flicked to the tattoo about his wrist. He was hers in more ways than one, her mind quietly drifted to the chessboard that she often imagined between herself and Lana, the male who's hair was twined around her fingers had somehow been upgraded without her even realizing it. The new piece he played on the board was something she hadn't expected and wasn't something she was sure about, was it a good thing or not? She couldn't be certain and so filed it away for later, instead she leaned forward and nuzzled her nose into his thick hair pressing a kiss to his head without really keeping tabs on what she was doing. It was like she was drunk, on what she had no real clue, but it felt similar, except usually she was in complete control of herself when she was drunk, right now it was like there was no self restraint holding her back, what was happening to her

Quietly happy resting his head on her knee, he shifted about a little to get more comfortable, the words finally emerging to the song. Singing them softly, he barely fumbled, not questioning the meaning of the words. They suited the song, and that was all that mattered. Uncertain when she moved, and at the kiss, and considered moving to look at her and ask a question, and decided to keep that to himself. He wanted to keep the peacefulness. Completely unaware of what he meant to her now, he continued the song, finally playing it right through and not caring what she’d think of it. She’d made the music, he’d made the lyrics, and it just went together. Nestling closer to her, he closed his eyes again, giving a soft sigh. He was happy here, happier than he’d been for years, and he wanted to stay like this.

Listening to the lyrics of the song, she quietly nuzzled her nose into his hair while quietly digesting the words, she liked the words he'd put to the music they some how fit. Perfectly aware who the song was about she quietly pressed another kiss to his head, not quite understanding why she felt so warm and content with him right now. A hand of its own accord slipped out of his hair and very quietly brushed down the side of his face to almost tenderly trace along his jaw, the quiet wanting different to how it normally was. Most of the time it was either lust or a reward for good behaviour, this time it felt different, warm as if she had a yellow flame flickering inside of her, a part of her wanted to stop this before it went too far, yet the side of her that had been in charge most of the weekend refused to. There was a small part of her that wondered, what if he didn't feel the same warm mellow feeling she did, and saw it as what was usually between them? However he was nestled close to her with closed eyes and a soft sigh, so that urged her forward to quietly nuzzle into his hair again before quietly drawing her nose down the opposite side to where her hand was to press a kiss to his jaw, a quiet part of her wanting him to understand

The song soon petered out, the young man letting the guitar rest in his lap. He was half asleep with her, feeling safe. She’d protect him if anything happened, and he’d do the same for her. Unmoving, he registered her hand trailing over his jaw, wondering what she was thinking. This all had a different feel to things, and he wasn’t sure what was going to happen next. Nestled there happily, his eyes flickered open at the soft kiss and he looked up at her, questions in his gaze. It really didn’t feel like the usual reward, or even lust. She was being so much more gentle about things, he half wondered if she felt the same that he did. It was warm, and safe, and he wanted to stay with her. Moving, he tugged on her hand to get her off the couch and snuggled with him again on the floor. Taking advantage of it, and hoping that she wouldn’t do a mood flip, he nuzzled into her shoulder, brushing his lips over her collarbone very lightly.

Noticing the look and the questions in his gaze, her own gaze held the answer surprisingly gentle and soft, easily tugged from the couch she willingly snuggled with him. Holding still for him as he nuzzled into her shoulder, she blinked in slight surprise when his lips brushed over her collarbone. Her response was to slightly tighten her arms around him and nestle her nose into him contentedly not really registering the shadows tucking the mans guitar away safely. quietly she nudged him out of her shoulder so she could properly kiss him, quite unlike most of their kisses that were in the heat of the moment this one was gentle and affectionate. Quite unaware that more of her feelings for him where unspokenly said through the kiss she eventually broke it to snuggle close to him, leaning her head against him she quite happily sat there his familiar smell surprisingly comforting to her. Slowly turning her head to plant a few kisses up his collar bone and neck, most of her didn't care now that she was acting out, this was too nice, she felt safe and secure in this moment and strangely lit up like a flame had been lit inside of her

Curling into her hold, he was content there, though he allowed her to nudge him around. He was hers, after all. Returning the kiss just as gently, he nestled into her as she moved around, dropping a kiss on top of her head as she trailed her kisses up his neck. He slid his arm around her, tugging her closer to him so that he could keep her close. Being very careful, like always with her, he trailed his fingers down her cheek, lifting her head so he could kiss her again, just as softly as before. It was so different between them, he was hesitant to go forwards and potentially lose that.

Not fighting the arm as it was slipped around her, pulling her closer to him she was rather comfortable there, her lips flicking into a slight smile when a kiss was dropped on the top of her head. glancing up at him as he shifted a hand to lift her head, Daniella returned the kiss warmly, despite his hesitation she very gently initiated the next few steps surprisingly keeping gentle and afterwards lay on the couch tangled with him. Her fingers quietly brushing up and down one of his arms, while her pale eyes flicked over his features studying him silently. There was a general softness to her features and gaze, a slight smile on her features, kissing his lips again softly for a moment, Dani tucked her head underneath his chin and closed her eyes quickly falling asleep.

Enjoying her gentleness, it was odd not having the lust or reward drive, but he liked it. Nestling close to her on the couch after, he wrapped an arm around her to hug her close. He tangled his legs with hers, determined not to let her get away, and closed his eyes quietly, not caring what she was doing. Looking at her when she kissed him, he hugged her tighter to him and kissed the top of her head, snuggling down with her as she fell asleep. It wasn’t long before he followed suit, trusting that her shadows would keep them both safe, and wake them before David came back. The human was meant to be back soon, Jory just wasn’t sure when exactly.

She remained with him like that until her shadows warned her that David was on his way back, reluctantly pulling away from him, dani pulled on her clothes and forced him to shift returning the copper collar to him and stashing away his clothes. She toed the line for the next few weeks, and ended up having to leave the flat without Jory one morning, very reluctantly leaving her dog behind, She was gone for a few hours and when she finally got back to the house she entered to find David laying into her dog with a metal baseball bat. Instantly furious she didn't think and leapt right in, getting in between the pair and about to let her shadows kill him, he lifted the bat and brought it down right across her face with a disturbing crack. Dani was downed instantly her face was smashed back into her brain. Once dani had got in the middle of the two, Tui had vanished to go find Killian. Finding him she chirped quickly "Davids attacking Daniella and Jory, and he got her across the face with the metal bat he was using" her voice was high pitched and extremely agitated, clearly stressed and worried for both her charge and Dani.

Quite happy nestled close to her, he’d not been happy when she’d forced him to shift, but he obeyed her like he was used to doing. He was mostly good for the next few weeks, barely acting up for David, and happy with his snuggles with Dani when he could. Disliking that she had to leave, he settled in his kennel to stay out of the way, intending to just doze and not be a bother. It was too risky with just the human around. However, that hadn’t seemed to be in David’s idea of a good time, and the man approached him. Jory growled, giving as much of a warning as he dared. He knew he wasn’t allowed to hurt the man, not yet, but he hated being touched by anyone not Dani. Backing further into the kennel, the dog growled again. When it didn’t work and he was still touched, he snapped at the man, catching his wrist and digging his teeth hard into the limb. He’d given his warnings, and they’d been ignored. Dragged out of the kennel, he backed away from David, letting go. There was no other reason to attack him, and he whimpered at the sight of the metal bat. Unable to escape it, he yelped with each hit, cowering from the man. Hopeful when Dani appeared, that all changed when David turned on her too, and the dog forgot his fear. Snarling, he leapt for the man, not noticing that Tui had vanished, or that all the shadows were looking woozy. Once the man was well and truly dead, the dog curled next to his mistress, whimpering a little at the pain from the beating. He didn’t know what to do now.
Still tired form his long hunts, Killian paused in what he was doing at the bird’s distressed words. Giving a sigh, he went to his daughter, letting his shadows clean up the bloody mess. It looked like the dog had settled things, which was halfway amusing. Still, Dani was the more important problem right now. Holding her carefully, he poofed them all back home, settling her on her bed while Cricket went to fetch Renee. He ignored the whimpering dog for now. There wasn’t much he could do healing wise anyway.

In the middle of making soup as it was starting to get colder, she glanced up at Crickets words her features frowning, Dani was back? Something in the creatures tone suggested all was not well, so with little thought she headed upstairs quickly while her shadows continued to grate the vegetables. Entering the room she just about fainted at the state her adopted daughter was in, darting forward to stand at her bedside, Renee very tenderly moved bloodied blonde tendrils of hair out of the mess. "I can fix this, but it'll take me a while, Darling could you numb the pain for Jory until i can get to him please?" she knew he'd keep Dani unconsious although from the looks of her she wouldn't be coming around for quite a while. Over the next few days she carefully healed and reshaped Danis face, rarely eating so focused on her task, finally her daughters face was back to its beautiful self and she felt dizzy. Remembering the dog had suffered a beating as well she touched her hand to his head sending a warm wave of shadows through him that knitted bones back together and healed his wounds, looking pale, sick and rather off colour she murmured to Jory "She likely wont remember the past few weeks, when you can, shift and play your music, she's not goign to wake up until she feels safe" with that she attempted to stand and failed her legs crumbling undenreath her. She needed to eat, and rest, the complicated healing and reshaping having taken it out of her

Staying next to his wife, Killian helped her as best he could, keeping Dani unconscious as well as dulling the dog’s pain. He was worried about the amount of energy it was going to take for her, especially since she was expecting now as well. Keeping an eye on her as she worked, he made her sleep occasionally. The dog had barely moved from Dani’s side, which he wasn’t surprised about, it was almost ridiculously loyal to his daughter now. When Renee was finally done, the assassin, lifted her to her feet, steadying her. “She’ll be okay,” he murmured, simply picking her up and taking her out of the room and down to the living area. Settling her on the couch, he vanished into the kitchen for a moment and came back with a full unopened tub of ice cream and a spoon, handing them to her. “Eat. Then you’re sleeping. You need to recover before you do anything else.” Worried about her, he settled with her, hugging her close to comfort her. “It was the human, David. Tui said he went after both of them. The dog likely killed him after Dani was hit, he’s covered in blood, and the man was very dead when I got there.”

After renee had recovered, she removed the bronze from the dogs neck and very determinedly ordered he had a shower. Once he had she vanished into the room she shared with her husband and curled up underneath the covers, she didn't reemerge for a few days needing both plenty of sugar and rest to restore her energy after the massive feat she'd pulled in healing most of her daughters wounds. Dani remained unconscious her face horrifically bruised, she looked strangely peaceful and yet small in the bed soft deep breaths the only thing showing she was actually still alive. Over the long hours while she lay there unconscious, the familiar tattoo of the hyena that had african wild dog markings slipped into view and rested on her mistresses hand watching the boy with the guitar curiously

Fuming after his talk with Ice, Killian headed through the house, searching for Renee to tell her the news. He had to go on this hunt, no matter how much he hated leaving her and Dani alone. He just couldn’t risk Dani being hurt again, not while she was still so hurt. Finding her, he explained as much as he could gently before kissing her and vanishing reluctantly. It was too much of a risk pissing off Ice even more right now. With Dani still unconscious, Jory hadn’t really done much, too unsure of himself about what he could or couldn’t do. He could guess that he was going to be in trouble for killing David, but he’d hurt Dani. It had been instinct to go for him. Finding that Dani’s room had a small balcony off it, he’d settled out there with Tui and his guitar, playing softly while he thought about everything that had happened. Renee had said she likely wouldn’t remember anything, so he’d already made the decision not to bring it up. It would hurt too much, and it was probably better to just go back to the way things were, even though he’d enjoyed the few weeks. Wandering inside after a while, he tilted his head at the sight of the hyena. It wasn’t often that she came out of hiding, and he wondered what she wanted.

Her intelligent brown eyes watched the boy intensely before the creature lay down on its mistresses hand and rested her head between her paws. He couldn't hear her so how could she tell him to play so Dani could hear him better, instead the strangely hued creature yawned a brief moment. She remained in view for the rest of the day listening and watching all that went on, it was nearly two weeks before dani finally woke up again, her pale blue eyes flicking open as Jory played one of his newest compositions. Not saying anything, her throat felt much too dry and sore to be bothered trying, so instead she remained still trying to remember what had happened, eventually she turned her head to study him quietly. She remembered the sunday that they'd spent together although the attack upon her and her dog had happened on a wednesday, she was lucky that Renee had been able to heal her as much as she had or she would have suffered severe issues with her personality. Wriggling to lie on her side and curl up a little she continued just to listen only speaking once he'd finished "What happened? Why are we at my parents? Whats going on with david?" as she'd predicted her voice was hoarse and it was hard to draw saliva into her mouth let alone speak.

He'd amused himself over the couple of weeks that Dani hadn’t woken, curling up close to her as a dog at night, and preferring to stick to either the room or the kitchen with Renee. It seemed like Killian had vanished somewhere, which the young musician was grateful for. He had a niggling feeling that the dark man didn’t like him at all. Having moved off the chair on the balcony to just sitting in the doorway to outside, he’d been playing when he heard her voice. Glancing over at her, he hesitated, remembering what Renee had said about her not remembering things. Deciding that it would be better to just ignore the weekend they’d been gentle with each other, he answered her slightly cautiously. “He died. He hit you with a bat in the face, and your dad got you here.”

Pulling the blankets over herself a little more as she felt cold, Dani eyed him for a few moments, that explained why her face ached badly. By now most of her bruises had all but faded, the more she was awake the more things that came back to her, although her memory was a little fuzzy right now she remembered against all odds the weekend where they'd learnt how to be gentle with each other. "How'd he die?" Ice would punish her for it she was sore, but for now she just wanted to snuggle down and maybe have something to eat. Reaching out toward him she gestured "Come and sit" her nose wrinkled in distaste at the fact that it hurt to speak, she put the pain to the side wanting to find out exactly what had happened. She appeared surprisingly small in the bed, curled up under the blankets, still rather pale, there were plenty of new scars on her face where the bone fragments had stuck through her skin where he'd smashed the bat into her face. However for now she wasn't aware of these new physical mars on her beauty, and patiently waited for him to obey, he always obeyed.

Studying her, Jory looked away, tracing the wood grains on his guitar as he thought about her question. He had to answer, he knew that, but he was afraid of getting in trouble for it. “Uhm. A dog… tore his throat out?” Unsure if it was the right thing that he’d done, he hesitated before obeying her, resting his instrument against the wall and sat on the bed beside her quietly. He wasn’t sure what she was going to do, whether he was in trouble, or whether he’d done the right thing. Unable to meet her gaze, he fiddled with his guitar pick absently, waiting for her next words. Maybe he needed to get Renee now that she was awake, her voice sounded so sore.

Listening as he replied, a slight smirk crept onto her features "good, it'd be a pity if he'd survived hitting me like that" he got up and walked over to sit on the bed, he was so unsure about what he'd done and her take on it. She could read him like a book whilst he fiddled with his guitar pick, "you're not in trouble empty head" ice would be but that was her problem not his. She moved a hand from under the covers to rub at her face, it ached and the movement helped slightly. Her voice hadnt lost its raspy quality as she spoke, although to her disappointment there was no water to be found. Confusion coloured her features as fact merged with fiction in her head unsure of what was memory and what was a dream she was about to ask the man something when Renee appeared. Shutting her mouth again she listened to renees questions about if she felt any pain, and how she felt, gratitude flashed in her pale eyes briefly as her adoptive mother poured her a drink and passed it to her. Renee turned to jory and gestured for him to come with her a moment, once outside danis room she spoke "make sure she eats, find out what her last memories are so we can fill in gaps as best we can" renees features remained gentle and calm while requesting his help. Passing him a small box of fudge she turned and headed down the stairs leaving him to deal with the manipulative blonde trapped in the bed.

Giving her a quick glance, he simply nodded in silence, still unsure if she was just saying that or not. He didn't know what she remembered, so he stayed quiet about everything, still feeling that it would be best that if she didn't remember, he wouldn't say anything. Glancing up when Renee came in, he stayed silent, listening to Dani's answers quietly and trying to work out what she did and didn't remember. Following Renee after a slight hesitation, he nodded slightly at her request, hoping that it wouldn't be too hard on Dani. He just didn't know which gaps to fill in or not, she was so hard for him to figure out. Venturing back into the room, he perched in the same spot on the bed, offering his mistress the box of fudge. "Renee says you should eat something." It was probably better than nothing. Going back to fiddling with his pick, he turned thoughts over in his head, waiting for her to speak now.
